Saw it last night....man ,can Clint make a movie or what. After seeing it I had to ask myself, how the hell did this not at least get a nomination at the Oscars? Great story,Clint of coarse was great,as only he can be,and I understand that was going to be his last acting role.Truely an icon in the industry.

I watched a bootleg copy of Grand Torino at my home a couple times and loved it. Clint is good ooops great. Maybe "some" in Hollywood didn't like some of the words used so no nomination. Regardless it was entertaining and I really liked the way it ended.

I liked it too. It was kind of an anti 'Dirty Harry'. It kind of led you to think Clint was going to handle the situation like he always does, with lots of bullets and dead bodies.

I saw it also. I thought it was good, but not in the same class as Billion Dollar Baby and Mystic River. Cint has made some fine films. I have not seen Flag of Our Fathers or Letters From Iwo Jima.

Those last 2 are epic. I would purchase both of those. Especially 'Letters from Iwo Jima'. Do yourself a favor and put those at the top of your list. They go together so make sure you get both of them.

I would comment on this but I don't want to spoil the movie from those who haven't seen it yet. (We don't have spoiler tags).

I feel that because an edgy movie was made by a conservative director with conservative themes, it was not in contention for the Oscar nod, no matter how good it is. Just my .02.

Jake, I don't know if I should be proud or worried that I am being quoted. Certainly a first for me. :)

I felt the movie was much more liberal than conservative. I guess it all comes down to what one feels in conservative and what is liberal. I think Eastwood had done this before as well, turning from prejudice old man into a more accepting person. Million Dollar Baby.

I'll be checking this one out once it comes out on Blu-ray.

I think quite simply all the racial dialogue kept it out of oscar nomination. A shame because Clint deserves a best actor oscar for it.
