So Ive got my RTi12s biamped with almost 450w going to it using two Parasound Amplifiers (One is a 5channel HCA5250, other is a 3channel HCA2003). Then I got the CSi5 doing the same thing, same amps so its also getting 450w. The surrounds are only getting 250w from the 5channel Parasound amp, which is more than enough for the FXi5s.
Do you think Im going to blow that CSi5? I know they recommend upto 200, but never really understood why they put biamp posts on it if it can only handle 200, Both my amps push more than 200 a channel. Ive thought about getting a larger or more powerful center, but I dont think Polk makes one to handle 400-500 range. Plus Im not looking for some other brand as all my speakers are polk (with the exception of my 2nd sub, sunfire true mkiv 10s).
Now I have run the rig full tilt before I biamped by front/centers with the Parasound 5250 which puts out 250x5, and so far the CSi5 been good, no distortion, sounded clean all the way to full power. Just wondering what yall think.
