ROFL! That is the stupidest thing I have ever seen.
The first time it's worn in public, someone is gonna beat his a$$, and take it home to put in their car.

Hey now, at least he didn't 'scam' the idea off someone. Give him a point for creativity, even if it's wheels-off stuff. The boy has balls, thats for sure, you probably wouldn't catch me with a 12 volt/something-hundred amp battery strapped to my person.
At least not sober.....
Cheers,
Rooster

You do realize that it was meant as a joke? At least, the way I'm reading it.... I think they were spoofing the people who carry their boomboxes to school...

Actually, the only reason I found this is because I was bored one night, I got the idea (somewhat) and typed in "backpack subwoofer" on google - I got this.
I think there is some sort of government conspiracy against me because anything I think of has been tried allready

Agreed - I think the novelty value would wear off fast especially after you turn yourself into a hunchback. And if they were serious about this project they would've made a better enclosure design for the sub - it sticks out a foot from his back - way too much leverage to make it fun to carry.

Go for it...

Of course, you realize that 30 seconds after they fired that thing up, the wearer and everyone in a 20 foot radius was stone deaf with busted, bleeding eardums.
I personally know people in their 20's who have greatly diminished hearing because they damaged their ears in high school with 180 dB 1000 watt car audio systems. Damn, if your car stereo can make your whole car vibrate, what can it do to a flimsy eardrum membrane?

Personally I know this, but I love loud music. People ask me all the time what Bass and such will do to your ears and such. I tell them simply.....go home....stack about 10 dvds infront of your subwoofer....crank it up.....watch the dvds fall over.....thats what it does to your ears basically....haha...i love that...lol
BTW - Im smart......Im putting my subwoofers in the bed of my truck....haha.....all i need now is the truck and the subwoofers....hmmmmm

I DEFINITELY agree.... I had one in my '66 VW bus for the fridge and stuff and man when that broke down or needed a battery recharge for the marine battery it was a nightmare!!! I dont think I could deal with this either. Reminds me of high school football practice when the coaches would make us run 50's with sandbags on our backs! hehe it would be very funny to see this in action though. especially with the little guy in the picture :D

By starting this thread I'm not saying I love loud, or hate it either. I like music with dynamics, brief periods of loud that are meant to stand out from the rest of the music, not like the nonsense most of the 20 somethings you are thinking of listen to. They generally fall into 2 camps:
(repetative electronic beat) - "I'm gon' show ya some shit rookie, press that button. The trunk went "eh eh" and all of a sudden, 415s didn't see no wires, and then I heard BOOOOoooom... from the amplifiers. Gata boots, wit' da pimped out Guchi suits. Ain't got no job, but I stay shined...
OR
(two chord guitar w/ some dude on lsd beating the crap out of his drums) - ":supermad: KILL, KILL, KILL, DEATH, DEATH KILL!!! KILL YOURSELF, THINK OF DEATH, IT'S SUICIDE - THE BEST WAY TO DIE!!!! DEATH TO THE N****RS, DEATH TO EV'RYONE!!!! KILL, KILL, DEATH, KILL, DEATH!!!! SHIIIIIIIITTTTTT!!!!! GODDAM F*CKING SHIIIITTTTTT!!!!!!! LET'S GET TOGETHER AND KILLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!"
I don't really care for any of these "genres". And really, if they were listening to THAT, were they really using their ears for good to begin with?
Don't get me wrong, I like classic and alternative rock and some techno and hip hop, just not that crap.

I agree... I listen to mostly classic rock through my car system, but I still found a need for two 10" subs to support the bass (I drive a minivan... lots-o-space). And hey- Carl Palmer could beat the crap out of his drums, but it sounded good :-). As a matter of fact, so could Bill Bruford...

If anyone will buy into it....it will be girls. Can't you just see a group of girls gathered around a friend carrying a SVS 16-46 CS+ with the hugest grin on their faces?? I certainly can.

explain to me how one would carry that?, it's 4 feet tall! the 25-31 is only 2 1/2 feet tall, and it's louder (maximum SLAMitude seems to be this kids goal anyway, not accuratly reproducing the lowest note of a pipe organ)

I know Carl Palmer wasnt.... not sure about Bill... I don't think Bill did either. You can never tell from that era. But the point is they weren't just beating the crap out of their drums, they were making them sound good at the same time...

I know, some people have that skill, just not heavy metal punks. I mean, come on - my grandfather could beat the shit out of some drums and it would sound the same, they just have no skills.
