Milty Zerostat proper use

I just got a Milty Zerostat today but the instructions are very vague. Can some of you vinyl veterans share your method of use of the Milty for taking static off vinyl. Thanks.

You are supposed to point it at the record and squeeze slowy. While releasing the trigger you are supposed to move it away from the record. . .

. . . I don't do that. I hold the gun about three inches from the record and squeeze and release five different spots around the record. I tried this using packing peanuts statically stuck to the record and it released them all. So I would say my method works best.
