ok so im a pretty big kicker fan i won't lie. i'm running a single L7 with a 3 Cube box and right at 750 watts rms. i'm thinking about changing things up a bit but i can't decide on a woofer. i've looked around ALOT! and can't seem to make up my mind. i have recently crossed CADENCE and have heard alot of good things. i was looking at one 15'. what would be a good sub for the money?

What are you looking for? Sheer output or sound quality.

If its output, then your Kicker L7 is one of the better ones.

If its sound quality, I recommend an SR 12

i love SPL but i like SQ also. the L7 has the output but is lacking a lil in the sq department. i looked at the alpine typeX and liked it alot but is somewhat pricy. i've never owned a polk sub but i do have the DB seires on the interier of my car. i don't really have a budget. I've always stayed kicker for the most part, and i was disappointed in the jl's i had. i'm looking for a happy medium between the SPL of an L7 and the sound quality of a typeX. is that even possible???

Probably not. An L7 is primarily an SPL sub so thats what its built for.

i was looking at the SR it seems llike an awsome sub. i have also looked at some other subs, i like what power acoustik has going. i'm looking for bang for my buck and PA looks to fill that catagory so far.

I've had many kicker subs over the years, from the Kicker Freeair subs all the way to the first squre Solobarics. My favorite sounding Kicker subs were the round Solobarics, the S12c's(had an inverted dustcap) and S12d's(the front was one solid piece, like my JL). Those were nice sounding subs. I eventually left the Solobaric line because I felt the SQ was not what it was with the round Solo's. Output was nice, but I'm mainly into SQ.

I've had a couple Type-X subs. I still have one and switch it up with my W6 once in a while. They are very nice sounding subs. You just have to make sure that you have a good amount of power going to it. They are not the most efficient subs, but if given that power you'll get rewarded with very nice SQ & output.

If you haven't yet done so, take a look at the Q-12 from Fi Car Audio. Nice sounding sub that can also get pretty loud. The Soundsplinter RL-p12 is another good option.

Both the soundplinter & fi subs will give you very nice results, especially for the money you spend on them.

I like my Polk Audio DB 212-2 subs. They look nice and if pushed to their capabilities can beat 2 L7's (what I've heard). They also have very nice SQ since the box is made to operate at 100% efficieny.

Yeah right... If you have a big budget, you can choose the best one...
