Yep, you read that right. Carver Platinum Amazings 600 local pick up cash or money order (unless I know and really like you)

60" ribbons, 4 open baffle 12"s per channel. you aren't going to find a better speaker for 600 anywhere kids, so don't waste the google search. These speakers will impress the hell out of whoever visits your house.

priced for quick sale. Don't panic, I'm not money strapped....they have cosmetic issues 6 out of 10 or so. The covers are off and without grill cloth. I have cloth but never put it on.....the cloth is yours if you buy them.

also, one of the rear mounted crossover housings are loose. the crossover itself is fine and functions perfetly but some jackhole tried to lift the speaker from the little handles on the housing and cracked the wood holding it to the speaker. for a wood oriented guy, it's actually a real easy fix but since it didnt affect the speaker function in any way, my lazy ass never fixed it.

good news? the ribbons work great (the part you REALLY want to work right)
also, I changed 7 of the 8 12" drivers on the pair. I also have the new driver to replace the one I didnt. it comes with the speaker (i might even have 2, if I do, its your too)

I'll get pics up soon, but the long and short is.......awesome speakers that got some TLC from me while I owned them, but need more from a new owner on the cosmetic front (or be lazy sh*t like me and run em as is if you dont care, your call). the best sounding speaker I ever owned period. the AR9's come awfully close, dont ask me why I am keeping them and not the Plats, its a long story.

to reiterate, from a sonic standpoint, they work like a charm. ribbons = good, and new drivers? I must be out of my mind. obviously the price is firm.

I need to clear out my basement some, hence the quick sale price. exploit my laziness and malaise while you can folks

Bump for a sweet deal

Too bad your not closer to Dallas, at that price I would buy them just to hear the sound. A long time friends just bought some maggies, I could taunt him with the Amazings:eek:

Your KIDDING me!!!

You FNG's want to get serious? This is IT. They will ROCK your world. I wouldn't let mine go for less than $1200, if I ever would at ALL, and he's offering these up for friggin HALF that?

If I had the urge to make a choice between my 9's and Plats, I would go take a nap until the urge passed.

Good luck Big!

Piano black, and subsequently fingerprint ridden from moving them.

A friend of mine has a pair of AR9s, I just re-foamed them a couple of weeks ago for him, they sound incredible. He won't sell them though. If I ever find a nice pair for sale locally, mama's going to be pissed!

What do you consider "local"

Your friends that visit my abode.

What do you consider "local"

Well, I guess I would prefer local to be no more than a couple of hundred miles, Georgia might be a bit of a stretch from central Texas.
