Been looking for a pre/pro, found the rotel used for 550 wasn't sure if it was a good deal or not. It seems to be a very nice unit and I see that it sells new for 1700 so as far as that go's price wise it seems good but..........So if anyone on here has one or has had one in the past please give me your opinion on these.
Best regards
Mark

Not sure of how good it is, but I often see these go for at least $600 used. So it's not bad, but it wasn't a blowout price. I was actually looking into getting one of these myself. Let me know your impressions. :)

I owned the Rotel RSP1068 and I found it to be fantastic in many ways. For 2 channel listening I felt it was a good as many 2 channel preamps. Warm detailed and extremely clear. If you search in here you will find my reviews of mine.
For setup and calbration is also damn good, actually I miss the multi crossover points you can set on it and for different surround modes. Really nice.
Control is all one would or could ask for, all you have to do is send a input command and it turns on and goes to that input. NICE!!!!
If you are getting into Blu ray, you are still good, you can use the 6 channel in for a external processed player or if you have a PS3, optical works great but you don't get the new formats. The Rotel is so damn good sounding you will not be missing much.
It has zone 2 out which is very nice if you want to pump music into other rooms and be a different source then the main room, or they can be the same.
For that kind of money it's a steal even today. It's a overall fantastic preamp and it's sound quality is purely amazing. Not but a few months ago they where selling used for around a grand or so.

Great little pre pro. I've had mine for 4-5 years. Works just as good as when it was new. Great bass management, 3 assignable 12 volt triggers. And it's easy to navigate the osd. Did I mention that the audio is awesome. Too bad it doesn't have HDMI. But, as Mantis mentioned, using the 6 channel analog outs works good. Since it's new to you, I would suggest refreshing the front display, to give it that new look. Here's a link.
