I woke up this morning to a nasty tear in a midrange driver for my RT1000i. Damn cats.. Must have jumped up and put it's f@#$ing claws through it. I usually cover the speakers up and in a drunken stuper forgot to do so last night.
What should I do? Anyone have a midrange hanging around? Do I try and get one from Polk?
This sucks. :(
PS. I posted this in the speaker section but not getting any responses. I figure the big boys will be in the off topic section.
First:
Torture the cat, burn it alive - boil it, throw it out in the cold, kick it, pull out its fur by the strand.... etc..
After you have done the above:
Call Polk. They should hook you up if your under warrenty.

I don't think "cat scratch damage" falls under "warranty repair".
As a Club Polk member you will get a discount on the driver. Just click on the "service and parts" link. They should be able to get it to you pretty fast.

"cat scratch damage" Was that a Ted Nugent song?
I was checking out the part list but I don't know which one I need. It's a midrange driver for the RT1000i. Any ideas?
It's too bad Customer service isn't open weekends. I just ordered a Rotel RCD1070 yesterday, should be in wednesday or thursday. I hope I can get my speaker fixed by then.

Just call Ken in customer service on Tuesday or Wednesday because they will not be open until then, we're getting over 2 feet of snow here in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I'm bet you'll keep your grills on from now on.

You know what get more pets, more cats...anyway most
people here love pets more than anything, that's what I
noticed since I came here in North America.
If someone saw you torturing your pet you will get charge and
go to jail.
