I want to freeking kill this guy! The following is a transcript of an Email exchange with an asshole that cannot take no for an answer...
Hi,
Would you consider an offer of $1,350.00?
Me..sorry, but I won't even dignify that with a response. Try getting anything
close to what this amp offers for less than $3500.00.... good luck!
he sent this link to Ebay, in which a 5channel sold for rediculous cheap...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=150336601626
me...so... there have been 5 channels selling there in far worse shape for 2k as well
that guy just got lucky... the answer to 1350 is no way...
him...No problem but you need to look around and see the real prices of what these amps are now bringing I have seen several on ebay going for under $1,500.00!!!
me...mine is a seven channel, not a five channel, and I wont sell it on ebay...stop wasting my time!
him... I put the word out at Agon. GOOD LUCK SELLING YOUR AMP!!
WTF!!!! is wrong with people these days. I refused to give in to his rediculous offer so he trashes my sale?! To bad you cannot punch people in the face via an online connection...

I get that kind of crap all the time, I say firm, dont make any offers and some dips**t will throw me an offer. I was selling some klipsch speakers for 200 and had some guy tell me he got some just like mine for 125. I said that was a hell of a deal but no way will I take less than 200. So he got all mad and put his on there for 150 just so iIwould not be able to sell mine and even told me to go f*** myself in his add, some people!
Just curious why are you selling this amp?

I got it to enhance the entire system and was hoping it would really shine with two channel as well. turns out that I prefer the older TFM-35 two channel amp over the Sunfire, so I am going to get silver7/9t's for the mains, an A753 for the center/surrounds and a TFM-45 for the rear, all Carver of course.

You do realize that all of these different amps are going to sound different? Not telling you what to do but you may be better off purchasing 3 more TFM-35's or keeping the TFM-35 for the mains and getting one more for the center and getting TFM-15's or 25's if you want for the surrounds. In my oppinion the TFM-35 is more amp than you will ever use for any of your speakers and your surrounds side and rear most likely will never use 100 watts.

Yes it is as I'm sure you'd have a broken nose by now. This one reminds me of that Carver thread you started. Enough of the drama queen stuff.
I put the word out at Agon.
And how do you suppose he is going to do that, start a discussion thread about it? Well, he can't do that, the mods will not allow it.
Here's a tip for future reference. If you don't like the offer, decline it and stop responding to further emails from that person. Simple, eh!?!

You could have also just said, "No thanks but I appreciate the offer." It's not that hard to do and your price is high but that's just me.

here is what I don't get.... everyone posting before Jesse was cool and had no trouble with my post. After Jesse, everybody comes down on me with the BS that seems to run rampant around here from time to time.... Jesse are you that much of an ass all the time?... yes. And with exception to George, the rest of you follow so closely behind that you collectively sniff his ass at the same time? All you guys are a buch of suck-ups-GET A LIFE! And Jesse, half the flaming that I have seen happen here on this forum would stop if you could find a way to get back on the Ritalin. If you bothered to read at all you would see that this thread and the Carver thread are entirely unrelated. Even the carver thread was going well until your sicophants got ahold of it. I respect you for your knowlege and your insight, but your elevator does not leave the bottom floor sometimes.

If it's any consolation, I think this post was stupid from the beginning. I really get annoyed when someone bitches about low ball offers. JUST IGNORE THEM IF YOUR PRICE IS FIRM! It's that simple. It should have been clear by the first email that the buyer was extremely price sensitive.
Another thing, how many other offers have you gotten? If you've gotten higher offers, you ought to just ignore it.

I've gotten a few offers, but am not in a big rush to sell. Someone offered 1700 and I turned that down as well. the trouble with this guy is that every 30 minutes he sends me an email whether I respond or not, telling me I am an ass for wanting to muchand basically trying to bully me into his price... I had more of it but deleted them as soon as they came in. I have his crap tagged as spam now... I have seen others post similar threads here without the negativity so thought I could do the same. Guess the difference is that I did not check it with Jesse and the Suckup Gang first....

I had my Placette at an already give-away price on audiogon (not a "obo" ad), and of course an ass-clown sends an email "I'll give ya 500 if you pay shipping"
I responded "I bet you will, and the price is firm."
Low-ballers are a fact of life, they're fishing for a desperation sale.
I know it's frustrating when someone offers you less than what you feel your item is worth but if you have OBO in the title people will try to cheap out as much as possible it's human nature. No biggie send the fellow a ROTFLMAO smiley, block further emails and move on.

If you don't feed into a low baller with back and forth emails, you won't have any trouble.

You just wouldn't be posting such things if you only knew how wonderful the aroma of the presidential posterior actually is. That's why we all love it back here, you should try it!
Good luck with your sale, BTW, and the other stuff too.

If I were you I would take that $1,350.

actually no, I did not get screwed as you put it. I paid FMV for it and am asking about the same, leaving room for a bit of negotiation...

From Dictionary.com (another tool that's easy to use but nobody ever does):
No results found for sicophants:
Did you mean sycophants (in dictionary) or Sycophant (in reference)?
For sycophant
syc·o·phant n. A servile self-seeker who attempts to win favor by flattering influential people.
Reference.com on Sycophant:
Sycophant
A sycophant (from the Greek συκοφάντης sykophántēs) is a servile person who, acting in his or her own self interest, attempts to win favor by flattering one or more influential persons, with an undertone that these actions are executed at the cost of his or her own personal pride, principles, and peer respect. Such a manner is called obsequiousness.
In ancient Greece the word was the Athenian counterpart of the Roman delator, a public informer. In modern Greek the term has retained its ancient classical meaning, and is still used to describe a slanderer or a calumniator.
Etymology
According to ancient authorities, the word (derived by them from συκος sykos, "fig", and φανης fanēs, "to show") meant one who informed against another for exporting figs (which was forbidden by law) or for stealing the fruit of the sacred fig-trees, whether in time of famine or on any other occasion (Plutarch, Life of Solon, 24, 2.). The Oxford English Dictionary, however, states that this explanation, though common, "cannot be substantiated", and suggests that it may refer instead to the insulting gesture of "making a fig" or to an obscene alternate meaning for "fig", namely sykon, which means cunt.
Another old explanation was that fines and taxes were at one time paid in apples, wine and oil, and those who collected such payments in kind were often called sycophants because they publicly handed them in.
Popular culture
* In Obert Skye's Leven Thumps series of children's books, "sycophant" also refers to a race of small furry creatures whose job is to aid people who have entered Foo.
Depending on which word he meant to speel correctly, I gotta give him credit for using a 50 cent word like that. Then again, the speeling is close to psychopath and phonetically similar. If he meant that, then, well, he should bookmark dictionary.com

The dictionary only helps if you know what the word means.
