Hi Polk Forum Members
I decided to donate my Realistic LAB500 TT to anyone who wants to come get it.
I live in MD near DC.
Some info:
Direct Drive
Cheap, Brand New, Shure Cartridge - replaced by me and it was my first time
- probably should be aligned by a pro...........
There are a couple of scratches on the plastic cover - but overall in good shape.
It works well.
This is not a great TT, but for anyone who is interested in playing some records......this puppy is plug and play......

Linear tracking turntables rule. Reduced wear on those micro bumps that store the sound in the groove.

Everybody wants to be a smartass. Guy trying to turn a good deed...
If no one steps up by next weekend, I'll come down and take it off your hands, ok? I actually do have a use for it, but if someone else needs a starter, have at it. But next weekend is the cutoff...

WTF is this brought up for?
Clark, put that frown away, this is a great Karma. I'll take a pivoting arm over some of the inexpensive linear stuff any day.
It sure doesn't look too cheap to me, if that's a real wood plinth/base I'm seeing. Outstanding karma gesture !!:)

I think the wood base is a nice veneer.
It actually has a bunch of nice little features....the felt iso-feet are pretty nice, the hardwired interconnect is beefy compared to most run of the mill turntables, the tone arm controls are shiney machined little pieces.........I have never used it as an "automatic" turntable, but the tonearm lever has a good feel...........
I saw a few posts recently where people said they wanted to try vinyl - a nice cart and you'll be on your way.
Hmmmm, where in Bethesda ?? I'm just down I-270 a little ways. (Fred.-Mt.Airy area) If no one else grabs it , I'll make the trip although I'd have to pay you something for it or maybe give a gift in return. Please PM me with your address if it doesn't go to someone else, I really like the looks of that TT!!:)
