Hi all.
I have a old Harman Kardon preamplifier,model Citation 17,which seems that has a problem with a mode switch,(stereo,stereo rev,mono,right,left),#24025430.
I ask,if there is this switch as a spare part somewhere,so as to find it.

What seems to be the problem with the switch? Is it indeed thew switch?

Yes,it is the switch, because when set to mono, plays OK,while on stereo, plays one channel only, and occasionaly plays again,OK,and if set to stereo rev, plays the other channel.
Thank you for your response.

Have you tried cleaning it with Deoxit?

Dave is right. There could be corrosion or some debris on the switch contacts. Most likely, the switch is not hermetically sealed, so you should be able to apply contact cleaner to the contacts (doesn't have to be Deoxit). Then just exercise the switch several times and see if it will help.

This most likely is the culprit............a dirty switch. Happens all the time and it doesn't take much contamination to cause your type of issue.

Good luck

Forget Deoxit. Look for a product called RID-OX from TECH-SPRAY. This works much better and will also protect as well as clean. Find it at www.techspray.com look under 'products' and select 'index' then scroll down to 2100-coatings.

But it does sound more like just a dirty switch than a switch needing replacement.
