At the end of May - my audio adventure should be over... for atleast another year or two!

Except for maybe the room...

I gotta admit - music has not really sounded better than this in this room.

The only thing I can see happening... is if this Symphonic line CD player is all its cracked up to be - it may make me want to replace the Odyssey stuff with Symphonic line stuff...

But honestly, Symphonic line amps and preamps start around 7-10 grand A PIECE... so I do not see that happening anytime soon.

But I am just to the point where I am tired of owning mediocre gear due to money. I decided to get nice cables - treat the power, have a SOLID** source and not just an OK source...

And I think this will round it out nicely..

that is thing Trey, most of us never started out want to have big money rigs, but as you move up the chain and learn what is good, why and so on it just sort of happens. As you get better pieces you realize where your weak links are and do what you need to do, so then every so often you can be content like you are now, well almost are now.

I dont have the subs yet.

I am expecting them to arrive here in 2-2.5 weeks.

I ordered the cables I will need yesterday in advance so I would have no down time...

My Candela should be back from Klaus by next week with all the upgrades and tweaks he has. So it will be up to spec.

Right now I am stuck listening to my CDP directly to my amps -- in which case, I get to hear just how just "OK" it really sounds.

But once the Candela and the sub gets here - I will definitely take a pic for everyone!

Thanks! :)

Thanks!

I am definitely at a higher resolution than before ---- recordings I was once ok listening to now sound a lot worse. The ones that impressed me sound even better! Funny how that works.

Sounds like first rate gear you got there and those that you plan to purchase in the future. Congrats. Though, I highly doubt you'll be able to warn off the upgrade bug for a few years;).

I said this previously about the gear I have now -- so pretty much take this next statement with a grain of salt... although the price difference is FAR greater than before...

I will have to pay ALOT more --- and not like last time where I spent 1,000 per piece and the upgrade is costing me 2,000 a piece --- the next step for me is floating around the 5-10,000 a piece. I don't make that kind of money! LOL So -- I can see maybe started to obtain HT gear for the future.

The one thing I have come to realize is I have no interest in trying other gear. I could care less about buying a different - same price class - amp. Because it will just be different and not really better. Now, true that that different may be better suited. But thats a good way to go BROKE! lol

Same with cables ---

Speakers are very personal, but these Super Towers are beyond bad ass. They are just like my 7u - just on steroids. Bigger, badder - yet sweeter and more delicate all at the same time!

So -- hopefully this stuff will be around a while! lol!

Thanks for all the comments!

Vr3 -

I think you are at the point where spending $5,000+ per piece won't yield as significant of an improvement as from $1-$2k.

Just my opinion, but as you get into the higher-end you also get diminishing returns.

Aware. :)

My next biggest upgrade would have to be a house. Because I am definitely out-growing my room. (About 5 yrs ago)

Why don't you move out then?

VR3

Ill probally be here another year or three -- hardcore save my pennies after my audio spending these last few months for the next 2-3 years and Ill be there. Indeed

My goal is half down! (if not more) Im a little over half there right now. And of course I want 6 months of bills saved as well.

:)

I refuse to move out unprepared!

Does your school have any apartments?

Careful. Saying something like "the journey may be over" may lead to God issuing a lightening strike, causing your house to burn down and forcing you to start over.....

Oh yeah, an apartment would be the perfect place for a rig like that.

Yeah - I have pretty much figured out that I would be evicted from an apartment as I was moving in. When the neighbors saw all the sound equipment - they would beg for me not to move in.

I'll get my own house one day... preferably one with a big ol den.
