I like lots of bass and sometimes my 505 with 300RMS doesn't seem like enough. I'd personally go after something with more RMS power.

Try SVS for a good subwoofer.

That depends a lot on the room. Some 300 watters can sound just fine in the right place in the right room? Dynamic peaks are also important. For example some 300 watt BASH subs can have a 900 watt dynamic peak. The Polk, I think is only about 450...which is still OK....

But yeah SVS, HSU, Velodyne....etc. Can boom, boom more if you're willing to leap over the 1K category...which some of us can't, at the moment!

Hi HD24 -

What is your budget?

All very good suggestions, If your budget weary (like me), I run 2 PSW10's that runs the dog out of the room and scares my poor wife half to death! Im happy with it for now!

PS: my room is just a tad bigger than yours.

i've heard a lot of good reviews for the bic although you have a large room to pressurize, so i think you might want to save some more dough. like they say, go big or go home, or buy it right the first time, lord knows i found out the hard way. try the Epik website or even cadencesound offers a nice unit

I replyed to this in your other thread. http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1065841&postcount=9

Sorry to be blunt but it sounds like you want some serious HT bass. IMO what it sounds like you want can not be done in that room for that price, unless you score a BIG time deal on something used.

May I suggest slow down a little on this purchase and go listen to some systems so you can hear/feel what excellent HT bass is, then decide if you still want that quality or if you want to stick to your budget.

Maybe try to get your hands on a used PB10-NSD. SVS warranties transfer so you'll be safe to buy a used SVS

Not familiar with your Sony sub, from looking at the specs (for what that's worth) I think you would see an improvement with the 505 or H-100, but not a whole lot. To really "feel" the bass you need something that can pressurize your room. Whether that would be "over the top" only you can decide.

read some good forum on the svs pb10 or pb12nsd. maybe i can locate one of these used somewhere. i have time to look. what are peoples opinions. should i go with the 12 over the 10. is it tha much better. my room dimensions are above and who knows i might have a bigger room in the future.

If you like lots of base, wait and save some more and buy a Sunfire. A nice shape used one can be had on ebay for the 500 to 600 range for the Sunfire True Sub. You will not be dissapointed if you go with that. 2700 watts that goes down to 18 HZ. Or for a bit less you can get the Sunfire True Jr. for in the $400 range.

Go for the SVS and be done with it, you won't regret it at all. It will last you for some time.

My room is roughly the same size 14x22 and I run dual SVS subs, I think you should go for the biggest baddest sub you can afford, so may be an Ultra or a Conquest. One of those would surely pressurize that room.

Agreed, get the best subwoofer that you can!
