I've got 2 pioneer premier subs 12in. Their about 9 years old, have a 200rms and 800 peak wattage. And am looking for a good amp to push 'em. I'd like to spend under $300 but am willing to go i little higher if its a really good deal. i was looking at the Pioneer PRS-D2200T 2-Channel Class FD Amplifier 1200W. wanted to get some input on this amp. Thanks for the help.

i'd recommend monoblock for subs. that amps gotta be over 3oo anyway... just like all my other amp recommendations for lots of juice and quality w/ small pricetag(and footprint) ahhh.. cadence ia7+HC or 9. check out specs at cadencesound.com. jason at powermaxelectronics will hook u up. under 300 for ia7 barely over for ia9. theres tons of amps out there, and some qaulity, polk, etc. not like this deal...

I got the speakers for free and just need a good amp. I'm not sure what the #'s you put in the msg. mean but am interested to learn more. I'm a big ebay shopper and can get the amp for about $260 thats shipping included.

Looked at the specs for the cadence speakers. (I now know what the #'s mean) and notice there mono. I have two subs is there a way to make that work?

maybe you could find a Pioneer GM5400T that pushes 380 watts rms into a 2 ohm load and wire them in parellel...walmart sells those amps cheap

haha walmart amps
u could do either ia7 or ia9. ia7 is all u really need(specially since there 9 yrs old) plus if 1 goes that amp will push 1 at 4 ohms very well(ia9 also would). and when they both go u'll still have some cash plus a sweet amp for your next 12.

haha walmart amp
yeah, a walmart amp for those walmart subs he has...the shoe fits. not saying i'd recommend a memphis audio mclass amp for something so shitty...i'll save that for my M3's

haha they R premiers'. but yeah, guess they R 9 yrs old. but he DID say "good". u'd be totally right hardy except for suggesting that after my suggestion. your recommendation isn't hurting any1 by any means but u do see how i can b humored after my recommendation. bet u'd recommend mclass if u could get it for under 300 w/ 5 yr warranty:eek:..

true he did say good...but to be fair my "walmart" pioneer gm5300T pushes one of my m3's alright for itself considering...just don't report me for that crime haha i have no money for the mclass amp i've been drooling over...and no car anyway lol...and if i could get that for under 300, it'd be sitting pretty on the back of my sub box already :D

nothing wrong w/ prs amps or gms for that matter. i'm sure that amp wil even work well for your application. just no where near as well as cadence ia monoblock. u can buy as many as u'd like. 1 ia7 would give each sub over 400wrms, ia9 over 600. so guess technically speaking you could do 2 ia7s or 1 ia9 but 1 ia7 is all u will ever need..

So how would i hook up two speakers to the 1a9 amp. I believe it says its mono. Would i just put both speaker wires together instead of seperate?

u know depends. owners manual or crutchfield explains but depends on if its a single terminal on box or 2 seperate terminals(1 for each sub). i believe the amp will have 4 inputs, 2 pos, 2 neg. so if 2 terminals, 1 to each. if 1 terminal, you'd put pos on 1 side(input) and neg on the other. x_ _x the amp will even say how at the inputs(bridged)

Would the 1 ohm be a problem with what I've got? I know together they push 2 ohms

no. just means going 2 ohms is extra safe and less distortion. i got a7, same amp just bout 8 yrs older. they finally just replaced it. i'm doing 2ohm also. my 4-channel a4 is also 1 ohm or 2ohms bridged stable..:cool:
