View Full Version : Dual subwoofer dilemma.

I have dual SVS subs. After being at a friends place I got kinda jealous at the "punch" he gets from his sub.

So, having a bit of free time today I checked things out. I get more bass when I shut off one sub, left or right, it doesn't make a difference. With both subs going, the bass seems to be much lower in the "sweet spot"...or, right in the center. If I walk to the left or right there is much more bass present.

Please don't tell me to get rid of one sub just yet. I'd like to make this work with 2 subs since I have 2.

So how can I get rid of this "cancelling" effect and actually get MORE bass with both subs than just one?

Have you tried runnig one of the subs out of phase to see if it makes a difference?

A little light went off in my head when you said that....I checked...I WAS out of phase with the left one...made the correction and it seems good.

I was testing with the speaker calibration menu, now I'll go put on War of the Worlds and see if it shakes the house. Thanks.

Sometimes you can also stack them in one corner to get a decent boost. Placement is key.
