YAY!!! NEW SVS SUBWOOFER but....

Have to call SVS tomorrow to have them ship the new subwoofer to my new home after July 1st. I am hoping they gonna accept me buying it now and have them to ship after i move to my new home. I hardly can save money for a month or two lol.... gotta buy now before money goes anywhere else. got a 12 years old brat daughter, 18 mos old son.. u know how it is.

YAY!! How hell did i just got 1,600 dollars that fast?? My mother just informed me today that she discovered that my late father, bless his soul, left me his truck that i did not know he had another vehicle. It is at his friend home and mom's friend who in need transportation want to buy "my" truck.

i wonder too but, i chose this for my 18 mos old son safety. I am afraid he will try (hes climbing now) to climb or fell on his head on corner of the sub if i get cube shaped sub. Plus this has soft sides all around , cant climb on it and its perfect safety for my son.

Wife said it better be kick ass subwoofer!!

You won't need a separate amp, that sub has a built in power amp.

As far as setting it up, you're going to have to wait until you have it setup in your new house to dial it in. Subs are very dependent on room conditions and placement.

You should definitely be able to feel the bass with this beast.;)

its because we had talked about this beast, and i know you would liked to have this too. Like we talked before, if i like it and i may buy another one. this is why i asked. I am was just reading AS-EQ1 Subwoofer EQ at svs. i didnt kow if i need this if i go for dual pc ultra in the future.

i dont know what dial in new room would do, how does this work? i have never dial in subs before :D

Hey, Congrats on the new sub. I've got the SB12-+ in a smaller setup and just picked up the PC12-NSD. The SB does an excellent job and is very pretty (piano black) but the PC12 packs quite a wallop! I'm pleased with both. Enjoy!! DJ

Congrats I run dual SVS PB12/Plus 2s and they can pound so hard it hurts. Sick bass, the Ultra should beat the shirt off your back.

I think I still have it set to its native 20hz. I haven't changed anything since I last tinkered with all the settings last summer. For a short while I had the ports sealed and that took it down to 10hz but I was happier with the "punch" I got with the ports unsealed. In my room it works best like that. You'll have to experiment and try it different ways. That's all part of the fun.

Big decision made for sub, now speakers lol... It would be external XPA 5 amp for 5.1 channel for a while til i upgrade to 7.1 after christmas.

You will have to listen to both, but for home theater uses while accenting the bass above the crossover, I think the RTiA9's would give you better presence. (for overall impact you can feel - in your situation may be important)

Would wood finish or gloss black look better in your room? Personally I like the new cabinets of the RTiA series quite a bit. Not sure what criteria you use when deciding on a speaker if you are deaf.... :p Rest assured that with either choice you will have a great sounding home theater.

I will say the LSi would be a more laid back but equally (if not a little more so) detailed presentation.

i love piano black finish thats why i like lsi 15 and it has reputation too.
Id go for cherry if i go for rti a series. I would want to benefit my wife too, since she can hear. Itd be wise on $ if i go for both HT and music. Its either i would buy but having hard time decide which. I like how both look and have the reps. LSI would cost lil more than rti a speakers....

sInce pc ultra is in picture, after months of research on speakers bass, i think it doesnt matter anymore since pc will take over my need of bass. I want my wife or my brother to enjoy music in our home.

I have a SC07 pre and 2 amps in the mix but my setup is a beast, especially with dual SVS Subs. I don't think the 12s sound bright at all, so I don't really notice what others mention. For 2 channel they play very well and the 7 inch woofers can move some air without the need of my SVS subs. Again I have them amped up to a D-Sonic Magnum 1000S if that helps. I think you would be happy with A9s and CSiA6 and surrounds.

Cool, yeah Rti a9 is on my first list and LSi is 2nd. I think i might use A5 or A7 for surrounds. Maybe FXI a6, it depends on what room is. I think i might get a "open" living room where i am moving into. I havent decide which house we are gonna get. side of room / Surrounds will be determined when i move in new house.

I know more about Polk, I have though heard many SVS, the new Polk subs are every bit as good at going boom boom boom as any SVS sub I ever heard, in fact my Polk in-walls with the Polk SWA amplifier sound much tighter than any SVS I ever heard, I have no reason to compare the two right now as I am not in the market for a sub, but since both have 30 day trial you might want to think about it.

In any event the new Polk subs are designed to work with Polk speakers, but then that almost seems to obvious to even mention.
