I have a silver face DV50A right now, apparently the Elite version of the DV563A.

I remember some time ago that the DV-45A was the budget choice for jack of all trades players. Does this still hold true? Does anyone think i will see any improvement going to the DV45A from my DV50A other than having all black face equipment for the first time in years? (Yes, my Sansui is black face)

Common sense tells me that the DV50A should be better (it's got a higher number!), but pioneer's numbering system gives me fits sometimes, and i can't seem to find a ton of info on the DV-50A specifically. :(

Any input is welcome. :)

The DV45 was a model up from the DV50/563 and IIRC it had a better video section but the audio sections are very similar if not identical.I believe it was replaced by the DV46 or 48?I still have a pair of heavily modded 563's that see regular duty as CD transport/SACD player.

Worth $100 in your opinion?

My main issue with the DV50 is that i don't have the remote for it, or the reciever that it came with. (Bought the EX500 Elite system for $100 off the showroom floor, sans remote.) Remote seems to be $80. Just trying to figure out which would be the better investment.

Worth $100 in your opinion?I assume thats for a used one which isn't unreasonable, but I think I remember seeing it's replacement (DV46/48?)selling new for only $99 online recently. If you intend to use it for video, the newer model would be a better choice.Purely as an audio player I don't think it will be a big step up vs the DV 50 but if you really need the remote go for it.
