New to the forum, but hoping to find a little bit help regarding my "new" M5Jr's.

I picked up a pair of M5Jr's for a pretty cheap price, $20, and was wondering if there is a way to fix a broken speaker wire terminal/binding post.

Welcome aboard!

It's your lucky day. I'm in such a mood that the I think only way to work my way out of it is to do a good deed.

I have one here with a sheared off red that I'm going to modify with aftermarket so I the good black one is yours. I'll PM to bet your mailing address.

The stock posts are crappy, you might want to upgrade both of them. (all four):)

If you don't want to upgrade and just want to replace them with stock I'll send some original binding post's to you off of my 5jr's. Just PM me your address or email me at davidebrinson@yahoo.com.

I've always replaced stock Polk posts with Cardas CCGR's, but that would cost 3 to 4 times what lakedmb paid for his speakers. I'll send it for free if I get his address.

Thanks Inspired!

I just sent you an email with the info. I really appreciate your help!

Bigbang - thank you for the offer as well.

gdb - thanks for the link. If I decide to upgrade I know where to go now.

Thanks for the welcoming.

Inspired told me today that the binding post was going to be sent out as soon as possible. Once, I have installed it, I will take some updated pictures.

I'm really enjoying these speakers!

Thanks again everyone.

I mailed it out Friday so you should have it there by Tuesday or Wednesday. I look forward to seeing your photos. The stock binding posts are soft metal and over-tightening or a good knock can shear them, but they'll last forever with a bit of care.

I restore vintage Thorens turntables with various tonearms and cartridges and know what it's like when seeking original parts to keep them authentic so I'm glad I could help with your Polks.

Well, I know that it has been quite a while since I said I would post pictures, but I have finally found my USB cord so here are the pictures.

Thanks Inspired for helping me with the part that I needed to bring these speakers back to original form!

Now, I just need to find some of the Polk logos that are suppose to be on the bottom of the grill. :D

Does anyone know where to purchase the Polk Audio badges/logos that go on the grill?

Thanks.

Keep your eye on ebay. They pop up on there from time to time.

You might want to post a want to buy thread here too. I'm sure someone has some extras laying around.

Thanks for the info! I'll post a thread in the other section and look on eBay.

Are Polk badges uniform?

No, I don't believe they are (someone will correct me if wrong). IIRC, some have a single pin, some have 2 plastic pins... I was in need of a badge for my 5jr+ a while back and I picked up a somewhat bashed up Monitor 4.6 on ebay for $20--so keep your eyes out for similar speakers as well.

Looking Good! I hope you can find the badges you need. If you search eBay for "Polk" or "Polk SDA" they turn up often. I'll let you know if I see any.

I found some badges on eBay for $9.99 with free shipping. When they arrived they didn't fit the holes that were already in the grill, but I drilled a hole in between the two existing holes and attached the badge. They are metal with a single "plug" on the back, not sure what speakers they came off.

I am pleased with the way they look on the speakers. :D

Thanks everyone.
