I have them at home am replacing them hopefully tonight...the pair in one of my set isn't even polk drivers...so off they go...
Just wanted to check in and see what break-in process or period should be and if maybe I should lay-off the throttle for a little while.

The other half had the 6.5s replaced maybe a year ago...cuz they were seized....but I'm sure they are broken in by now...but I didnt follow any particular process....maybe took it easy on them at first.(not sure running a sony amp was necessarily easy)

Oh anyone know of a good rubber gasket or film we can use to help proper seal? freakin forgot to look around lowe's yesterday for this altho I doubt they have something....prefer to resolve locally but I guess if there are only internet order solutions...plz post.

I got some replacement MW6511 and took about 30-50 hrs of break in before they started sounding good. Just play at moderate levels for that time period and you should be fine.

Get mortite to use in place of gaskets. It works much better. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=96338-1410-P24H&lpage=none

I would consider putting a new driver in each of the cabinets and running one of the older drivers in the other so you have a new driver and old driver in each.

Ok moderate levels should be fine.
Thanks for the caulking tip I'll look for it...turns out this pair had foam on it already on it.
It's the previous replacements that didnt have it.
Big thanks.

John can I ask why? (got them snuggly in now)

dont sweat it now, but my thought was to even out the sound during the breakin period is all...

When I got my new drivers for my SDA's, I put one in each sda position. That way the sound was balances, and breakin was even. exactly was nooshin suggested above.
