I really like this amp, however Alpine states that it should not be mounted vertically.
It can be stacked up to 3 on a flat surface.
I want to use only one but I would need to mount it vertically:o.
I would like to hear from anyone who has used these amps.

Ive seen several people use these in the lanes and have never heard of any problems. A friend of mine mounted his ALMOST vertically behind the rear seat and they worked fine. Id say it would be ok if you gave it plenty of airspace AND stuck a fan nearby.

Ideally youre not supposed to ever mount amps vertically. Heat rises and amps cool by radiating the heat out thru their heatsinks. If youve got your amps vertical or worse, upside down, the heat can be radiated out of the heatsinks and then rise right back up into the amp.
While I agree you should never mount your amps upside down, you can get away with vertical mounts if your smart and careful.

The mounting info is from Alpines manual.
I live in Alaska so it never really gets too hot.
It would be mounted in a 4 door Pick-up behind the back seat.
The currant Alpine V-12 5-ch ,has been mounted,no fan, there for 6 yrs with no problems.
I don`t see any problems either ,but I knew that this is a good place to ask.
Thanx Guys.
