Subwoofer not working - RM670

Great to find this board! I am struggling with a setup of my RM670 subwoofer with my Denon AVR-1609. The sub used to work when i originally set it up.

Single cable connected from Denon's subwoofer pre-out to the L on the back.

--Subwoofer--
Volume - middle
Lowpass - 160(all the way clockwise)
Phase - 180

--Reciever--
Front - small
Subwoofer - on

I have read numerous posts in regards to subwoofer problems and tried a majority of these to no avail. Even plugged my dvd player into the sub to test but nothing came out.

So obviously being a newbie i am looking for some suggestions on troubleshooting this a bit more directly.

welcome, you need to figure out if its the amp inside or the sub itself, does the power indicator light come on? And for future reference don't plug a dvd cd into an amp or sub, the input might be to high and you can blow the speakers or sub.

the light does turn from red to green when moved to the auto position.

If you have a multi tester pull the sub out and test it with that, if not pull the sub and just hook it up to your speaker out-put on your receiver turn the volume all the way down and get some music going and gradually turn it up if no sound and all connections are good it must be the sub. if not the amp inside is probably fried.

ok tried the above suggestion. I took the center speaker and uplugged the wire to it. Plugged into the back of the speaker input left speaker on the back of the subwoofer. Turned it on and adjusted volume and phase and nothing. Green light is on but nothing is coming from speaker. Did i do the correct above?

unscrew the driver out of your sub-woofer enclosure and test the sub itself with a multi-tester or a reliable signal source to determine if the driver is blown.
