speakers don't fit!!

I have a 93 suburban, i tried installing the speakers they are EX346. Well on the right hand side the passenger side air ducting for the air vent is in the way! The store told me it would fit in person and on the phone and they haven't given me any solutions for it yet, they say if i take it back to them to get it fixed they'll charge me which is bull. I'd hate to cut a hole in the air duct to get the speaker to go down all the way and just seal up the edges but i realy just want it to fit. thanks, mike

ps why does everyone try to rip me off w/my truck? (rhetorical question of course)
