Not sure yet if this is good news or bad news after what #4 was.

I liked 4, it was fun. But I don't see where they can possibly go from there.

Perhaps this is where Harrison Ford officially hands off the torch to Shia LaBeouf for a new generation of adventures.

4 wasn't bad because Harrison Ford was old, 4 was bad because someone wiped their ass and called it a script.

4 was atrocious and a complete waste of my time. I'd have rather watched Bette Midler singing "It's a small world after all" for two hours on a Bose system with the treble turned all of the way up and the bass turned all of the way down while being constantly stung by bees and mosquitoes.

IJV? No thanks.

Oh God. Oh the humanity.

4 was pretty horrid, meandering and pointless. Not to mention they give the role of Indy's son to a 12 year old girl.

Ill pass on this one. Im sure Ill watch it once it hits FX or Spike but thats it.

A damn shame that possibly the best movie ever made has deteriorated into this. Even more surprising considering how good The Last Crusade was. They just couldnt let it go out on a high note.

I actually thought 4 was a decent film until the aliens got involved. I think Spielberg was trying to combine Indy with an unfinished E.T. script... No matter as there has I have not seen a truly original story in a film in 15 years. The sad part is we still pay them money to see the same old rehashed BS...

Stay away from teh blockbusters, there have been some great, original films made recently, you just gotta go out and find them rather than waiting to see what the studios hand to you.

I saw the 1st one, and that was it for me. Ditto for the Alien movies. Star Wars, I saw 7 times when it came out, and barely got thru the 1st sequel. Did NOT get thru the 3rd.

I think they should have to pay some sort of 'Lazy Tax' for making endless sequels.
Say....60%?!

JMO, but I think it's pretty sad when the only production co. making consistently entertaining movies is Pixar!

I actually liked that scene. And it might have been the ONLY scene I liked in that flick. Too bad ... I loved the other 3 Indy flicks.

You know, if it were that hard to come up with an interesting story, they should have pulled a Disney and made the Temple of the Forbidden Eye ride into a movie.

nooshinjohn

yeah the nuke in a fridge gag was over the top, but it did settle down a bit after that. There were some pretty unrealistic stuff in the first movies as well though. The whole series is nothing more really than a James Bond action flick with a bullwhip instead of a Walther PPK. Again, nothing original...

As I see it, Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of the best films of all time, all the other films, crap. I really don't expect a #5 to be any different. Too bad.

Please Make it stop. As long as Lucas is involved it will suck. He is a one hit wonder that sucks all the magic out of movies. I am surprized that he held back and refrained from adding Jar Jar Binks to Indy 4.

I really hate when people knock movies for being "unrealistic".

THEY'RE FICTIONAL PLACES/PEOPLE.
Just enjoy the acting (Ford is still decent, and I like Sheia...or however you spell that)

The fridge gag was hilarious to me, and i'm pretty sure it was supposed to be funny.

Bah? That doesn't make them science fiction. Why not just have everyone fly? Would that bother you?

I did not think CT/HD sucked, just the flying part. While we know it is all a fiction movie with bounds outside of reality, myself and many others thought the flying was too much. It was not necessary in the film. All of the actors were excellent martial artists. Which of course seemed redundant if everyone could just fly anyway, who needed to know Kung Fu?

I used to practice 2 types of Kung Fu in my earlier years. Many martial artists can do amazing feats.

Adding flying to a modern day, high budget, Kung Fu based movie cheapened it to the realm of Saturday afternoon Kung Fu of the 70's with bad dubbing and wires.

By the time they get around to filming, Ford will be old enough to play his own father...

Welcome to Club Polk Doyle.

I agree Harrison is getting old...but I would add that some of you above are probably looking a lot worse for wear in your 50s than Ford does in that 4th film in his mid to late 60s?

I didn't care much for this last Indy film either. But the age thing? Look how long Sean Connery got away with playing action parts!

Ford still looks OK, it's his face that's aged. The remedy, boys. STAY OUT OF THE SUN...and you'll always look at least 10 years younger than you are....unless you've boozed, smoked and coked yourself to death. It also helps if you don't eat too many cheeseburgers.

And yeah...let's put Indy to 'rest'. Lucas has been done since the 90s, at least.

It was all I could do to resist force choking life out of Lucas when he asked me if I would make an appearance in the last Indiana Jones flick. He has NEVER been a very good director, though he can come up with a decent story from time to time... I think the guys at South Park are correct in their assessment that him and Speilberg are raping their past to come up with things to put on film. Let them try and do that with ME. I will shove my lightsaber so far up his @$$.... E.T told me that if they try and do it to him, Al Sharpton is ready to bring hell down upon them!

That may be the case, but Speilberg has 10x the talent Lucas ever will. Speilberg has many successes while Locas only has Star Wars.

Lord Vader

Star Wars was poorly directed as well, I was there and he made ME out to be the bad guy! The story of Star Wars would have been a much better film if Lucas had let Speilberg direct it...

Nope, Lucas owns THX. The best part was returning the dvd and saying it was defective. They asked if it was not playing, I said it was playing but it has to be defective because it sucked so bad. Did I rent the parody or something?

From the "Stuff".

If there is any truth to this article I do like what it says...

Harrison Ford's final outing as Indiana Jones will be "emotional and exciting" as the franchise heads back to its roots after a badly received fourth instalment.

Ford is well-known for his portrayal of the archaeologist and adventurer, and has agreed to reprise the role one last time.

Indiana Jones 5 will begin shooting next year, and much of the plot line will be centred around the Bermuda Triangle, an area over the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft are said to have disappeared.

"George (Lucas) and Steven (Spielberg) have been working on a script and it's almost there," a source explained.

"Harrison is on stand-by for filming next year. This looks like being an emotional and exciting conclusion to the franchise, with Indy facing his biggest challenge yet."

The last film in the franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, was released in 2008 and performed well at the box office, but was savaged by critics.

Shia LaBeouf played Indiana's son Mutt Williams, and he will also appear in the new instalment.

Movie bosses have assured fans the film will stay true to the series' roots, and won't contain lots of state-of-the-art special effects.

"Shia LaBeouf has a central role again as Indy's son but this will be a blockbuster made in the old fashioned way rather than the CGI efforts of the last movie," the source added.

I enjoy movies nowadays for their acting, action scenes and special effects, because I know that I can't expect the story to be worthwhile. Therefor, I really enjoyed the latest Transformers, Iron Man, Indiana Jones, etc.

Did I enjoy their "originals" better? Of course.
