A teaser only, but looks like it could be good, for a kids film.

Everything has been a step down, picture by picture a little worse from Six Sense for me. But this one looks like a fun little romp. Sounds like it should have some nice 'airbending' sound FX to test your HT system.

The last Airbender was a cartoon series on Nickleodeon that my daughter used to watch? So isn't this just a take off on that? It certainly looks like it is!

Gets back to M. Night's fascination with comic books and graphic novels...i.e., UNBREAKABLE--you have to admit Samuel L. Jackson was a great Villain in that one even if the film itself was so so!

Yeah, it was on Nickelodeon, but if you like anime at all its probably the best animated series to come out of America (even though the art was done in Korea...) in a very long time.

Oh, I fully agree, some Anime is really incredible. This series was actually fairly interesting. Let's see what M Night does with it?

Unbreakable is my favorite of all his films, and his best I thought.

The Happening was the dumbest piece of crap I have ever had the misfortune to watch.

"Airbender"

I turn into an airbender sometimes. Happens mostly when I eat a hearty bowl of chili with beans, a Burrito Supreme or some kalua pork and cabbage.

I'm an Airbender almost 24 hours per day ;)

Took family to see this in 2D last night and it was great. Special effects just continue to get better and better in movies. Daughter was familiar with Nick cartoon and thought it was well done. Can't wait for subsequent 'books'. Highly recommend for kids of all ages :).

All the critics are panning this one big time. Unbreakable is the only movie of his that I liked. Sixth Sense just bugged the hell out of me, cause I figured it out about two-thirds through, and that just kind of wrecked it for me. I didn't bum me out so much that I figured it out. I was more bummed that Haley Joel Osment and Bruce Willis were so alternately boring and irritating that instead of making me want to watch the movie I just wanted to figure out what the hell was going on. If you catch yourself trying to figure out a movie, it's not a good movie. At least there's nothing to figure out in the Airbender.

I was bored but at least not Twilight bored. 3D subpar so stick with the 2D and save some dough (cost me $25 for two 3D tickets - ouch). Acting a few notches below The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe which was a better film. Probably entertaining for kids in the 7 to 12 age group. This is Chapter 1: Water so I'm guessing there will be a total of 4 films (Air, Water, Earth, Fire).

Rental if you have a family with younger kids.

This was one of the Best Worst films I've seen this year.. The special effects were cool, but the acting and how they put things together were horrible.
M. Night Shyamalan just loves to destroy films.

Got this in the mail from Netflix and watched it last night....what a horrible experience....

My kids watched the animated series and I would occassionally watch it until I was sucked into the story line and character development.....which wasn't in the movie at all.

Flat acting, the martial arts moves were stilted, the story line was a constant series of 'huh' moments.

My kids even said the movie was bad - had to agree.

Pretty painful til the end and this was the first and hopefully last installment of this series.

I told myself I wouldn't rent this...not going to happen...shamalambinamb is a waste of attention proven again and again since Unbreakable...but I did it. Nothing coming from Netflix, no good BDs available in Redbox, so I slid my card for $1.62. Watched it NYs day with the wife. It was painful to watch. Pretty and sounded good, but every scene stilted, slow and poorly acted. The dialog was WTF? I don't know if any of the actors could have made any scene work except for the sympathetic fire-uncle dude. I can't believe anyone would give this guy a nickle to make another picture.
