the vertical supports are removable.
they are simply attached with threaded bolts (should be visible in the pictures)
for example if one set (4) of vertical support are not used
instead of 6 shelves then there will be five and so on.

It sure looks like a nice unit, but selling without a middleman like PayPal to act as an escrow agent makes it tough to do business when you are relatively new here.
