I just sent it as a 'Personal' payment with the funds coming from a bank account transfer or my PP Balance. It's an option that shows up now when making a payment. You just can't use CC or Debit, etc as the source, but if I did I can now opt to pay the transaction fee directly.
The personal option is supposed to be used when paying friends or family and well, I consider fellow Polkies my friends :D

too late to react...must be one of those midnight deal.. ;)
I have the classic port, so when the description said it is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the classic, it draws my curiousity. Oh well, perhaps next time. Congrats to the seller and buyers!

I do not have a premier account, and recently paid for "goods" using my bank account (no card) and did not expect to incur a fee, or if I did, I expected to be able to choose whether myself or the buyer would be charged. I was wrong on both counts and ended up sending the person involved a separate check to cover the fees!
I guess for well known Polkies, I'll use your method in the future, now that I know that it should work.

Since the sale is done....:o (CAVEAT- this is not a place to discuss the merits or anti-merits of PP-I'm just showing the choices I made to help in saving fellow polkies from paying PP fees if that is the method so chosen)
I only have a Personal account (not Premier) but it doesn't seem to matter as far as the Free from Fees option goes the way I read it.
See the pics for the actual page where the choice is made whe sending a payment-notice the tabs-it defaults to 'Purchase'--I almost missed it.

I don't think it matters what type of Personal Payment, but 'Living Expense' might be a good choice for the Audio Addiction ;)

Madden, thank you for sharing your PP screenshot. I stopped using PP after some sour experiences, and no protection at the end despite the claims... I guess this may be a good alternative for transactions between the members.
Sal, I always wondered how has the "BlahBlah.com" So it is you?! :D
p.s. oh, and yes, I forgot..

I've sent funds this way as well. Sal, you are correct - there are no protections when funds are transferred via the personal options. They are designed to move money among family and friends, not to pay for goods and services.
Of course, PayPal is happy even without the transaction charges, as they make money on the float.

Thanks Sal! Received in excellent condition. I have it burning in right now substituting as the AC outlet for a large 18,000 BTU window Air Conditioner. The wife is expecting our 2nd kiddo so it runs ALL the time. That ought to get it ready for install into the theater system pretty quick. Funny thing, the A/C fan sounds so much better already. The highs are more detailed and the bass is tight!....and I think the air coming out of it is much cooler too. :D
