what kind of surgery's? my dad has been disabled for the last 11 years with a spinal fusion and the replacement of 2 shattered disks, his fusion broke about 5 months after his last operation and he refuses to have another surgery on his back, hopefully u have better luck and everything turns on okay, but if they tell u "ull be able to horseback ride in a month or 2, dont listen"

I had what we thought was 1 tumor inside my spinal column attached to only the spinal column. What I ended up with was 3 tumors all grown into one and attached to the spinal column and cord. This meant 2 surgerys instead of 1. Because of the angle he came in at on the first surgery he was only able to get 2 and about 40% of the third. We had to go back in from the other side. The tumors have been successfully removed 100% ( thank god for neurosugeons) and they were benign. With the exception of two 3 inch rods I should return pretty much to normal. I just hope to be able to play golf again. I know how your dad feels about another back surgery but the pain I was in before the surgery was undescribably horrible and if it came back I would be the first on the table. Anyway I have been able to meet a lot car audio guys on several different forums and even help a few out so all wasn't lost.

o yeah, the pain is apparently = to giving birth on that spinal fusion he had, sadly hes now let with internal bleeding because one of the rods is poking out

Sounds like he needs a lawyer and a better doctor. Tell him I am very sorry that he is going through that. As far as nerve pain goes, which is what I had, giving birth is nothing.

Getting a second opinion sounds like a good idea for elo's dad.

I am happy to hear that your tumors were bening and are gone. Sounds like they were extradural. The intradular tumors can at times be very difficult to dissect out, once in a while you see the easier ones that kind of pop out like a pea once the dura is opened up.
