Clarity on the highs or lows?? I have listened to and HEARD the the difference in each one. And...why?

Hey Las, These are the famous Ben's Silver IC - Yes, I will post a pic this evening.

Lightman - I was fond of the clarity in the highs and upper mids. My little system in general was lacking fullness in bass. See thread Looking for Bass I opened a while back. I need to update to document my journey and findings. One of the test was cables, and I came to appreciate the highs and mids of my silver interconnects (Bens and Home Grown Audio) vs some Monster cables I had sitting around. The bass was ok when using the DAC of the Pre -vs- the CD source direct. However, I prefer the spaciness of the cdp DAC

I have come to the conclusion that biggest culprit was playing source direct from the CDP, and secondary were the cables (to a much lesser degree). Now I'm hoping to gain a little something is the bass department without sacrificing too much of the airiness and clarity I had with the silver IC's (hope that makes sense) playing source direct from the CDP. I may have been going through a mind trip at the time, but i even noticed slight changes when reversing the cables between amps and cdp to pre.

The AVTs are starting to break in and I like so far, but I need to get them broken in and spend some time listening. Until I get the source upgraded (DAC), I can't get excited

Give them a little more time between the CDP and amp. Silver takes a bit more time to settle in.

I liked them very much. I used them with a pair of HGA silver interconnects. These are made by Ben (ben62670), a highly respected member of the Polk Audio forum who makes these by hand as part of his cable building business.

Overall....I have to give a slight edge to the Air Matrix.They just seem to have a better soundstage and clarity.The cables I have money set aside for once I see a pair pop up on the bay or audiogon are DH LABS Revelation.I just gotta have those....If I had a grand to spend on cables though Id get 2 pair of those HGA-DNA ICs.:D
