Can I hook my Pre Amp and Receiver together?

If so do I just use the preouts on the receiver to external processer on the preamp?

Tuner and Ipod dock for the wife.

In that case just hook the recievers pre out to an aux input on the preamp.Select that aux when you want to listen to tuner/ipod.Alternatively you could use the tape outputs of the reciever, in that way the output from it will not be affected by the recievers volume control,using the pre outs the volume control will be functional.
