Both of our 27" Wegas went out recently. Bedroom and office TVs. :(
7 and 8 year old sets. Not heavily used. To be honest, I've been disappointed with Sony's reliability. I've had stereo components bite it prematurely also. Maybe it's the damp climate here they don't like. :confused: :p

I had to break down last week and bought a new 32" Insignia LCD from BB for my Mother-In-Law. Not bad for a 389.00 LCD. See how this one holds up.

I agree, more recent Sony's have not had the longevity of earlier Trinitrons....We had a 27" Trinitron whose power supply blew after 17/18 years. I think the TUBE is still good?

And our cheapo SHARP 19" is 21 years old and still running?
