hi I have my family room with ceiling about 8 ft off the floor. the room is about 13ft wide by 19ft long. i wanted to know what types of speakers to get (size and series). i love watching movies, and have a separate sub, front and front center speakers already and a onkyo sr606 receiver. i am just trying to clean up the floor and remove the speakers so my 1 year old does not play with them. her room (the baby room) is right about the family room.

I was looking at the Polk in-ceiling speakers for the surround and rear (4 speakers to make up the 7.1). I am trying to decide, first, what size do i need: 6.5" or 8"? Does it really make a difference (I mean can I go with the smaller)?

Also then I would like to know whether I should go with the LC series or the TC series?

thanks

Welcome to Club Polk.
Need more info. What are you running for the fronts? The LC series, I believe are timbere matched w/ the LSi series, and TC with the RTiA series.

For the moment, I am using Klipsch Synergy Series center and floor standing speakers. I may change this in the future, but I like the way they look and sound. My main purpose is to install the surround sound speakers. Just really not sure whether TC will suffice (and be excellent for movies) and whether I need 6.5" vs 8"

I'd recommend the TC's, at 6.5"x4. Their surrounds and no sense breaking the bank for them. Might as well install 4 of them now, even though, there aren't many, if any, 8 channel sources out there. Gottta plan for the future.
Don't worry about sound quality-you WON'T be disappointed ;-)
