Am I wrong or does amazon have the Pioneer sc-07 only $13 ish more expensive than the sc-05? The sc-07 is better right?

There both excellent AVR'S. The 07 sporting a few more "bell's and whistle's", 140 wts per channel, sampling rate converter, dual HDMI output's, to name a few. Im very happy with my 05, really no drop off in performance to the 07. But, if that difference in price between the 2 unit's is for real, it's a "no brainer", 07 all the way!:D

Yea I was like what?

Here is the amazon link:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sc-05&x=0&y=0

And it would be a no-brainer toward the 07 if you couldn't grab the 05 for 775 from here:

http://www.ibuydigital.com/product/?53586&camp_id=209

Maybe amazon's price is too high on the 05? Either way weird pricing.

You might want to google 'ibuydigital'. They're not exactly professional, from what I've seen. And I don't think they're an authorized seller, which means no warranty.

Here are some reviews from customers at ibuydigital:

"I placed an order for a Pioneer receiver. I received an e-mail shortly after saying that I had to call to confirm my billing information. The guy I spoke to said the order was processed and would ship out that day from a nearby warehouse and arrive the next day. It didn't arrive. I called almost every day for two weeks, sometimes waiting on hold for over half an hour and was always told the same thing, "It should ship today". Whenever I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that there weren't any available. Finally, after two weeks of this, I canceled the order because I finally got someone to admit that the product wasn't in stock and they weren't sure if/when it ever would be again."

"They sent a defective Pioneer receiver (for over $1400) and refused to accept a return of the product. I called December 8 - the day I discovered, and Pioneer confirmed, that it was defective. The Ibuydigital operator told me they never accept returns. It is apparently their position (fraudulent) that they can sell distressed or defective merchandise and refuse to take it back. Pioneer, though admitting defect, refused to exchange. Lawsuit to follow."

In summation, I guess avoid ibuydigital at all costs? According to more reviews I would avoid dbuys and homegoodz as well. Same problems with all of them, no communication, wrong orders, not shipping for weeks, etc. Bestbuypcs is the only one that is at a competitive price, 798, and has all reputable ratings. In terms of warranties they say this: In The Box

NOTE: This unit is Brand New in its Factory Sealed Retail box with a full US Warranty and all the Manufacturer Supplied Accessories.

I assume that means the warranty from Pioneer? Any opinions on this?

They are not listed as an authorized dealer on Poi's site, so I doubt there is any warranty from Ibuydigital. That said, the units on Amazon are not being sold by Amazon, but Big Value Inc. They aren't listed either.

I'm seeing right now the SC-07 @ 1022.95. The SC-05 is 1149.95.

Both being offered by Big Value Inc. If I were in the market to buy, I'd pass. Not an authorized dealer. You're screwed if it needs warranty service.

I have to have the OEM warranty. I won't buy an extended one, but I have to have the orig.
