Found a local seller on Craigslist letting go of his SVS PB12 Plus/2 sub. Poor guy had to move into a 1 bedroom condo.

I'd never heard one, just knew I wanted one based on other forum members' recommendations and was just keeping my eyes open for a local great deal. I picked it up yesterday. You have no idea how big these things are (even if you read the dimensions online) until you see it in person!.....and then you hear it and it's all over. :D The beast hits LOW and clean.

Even at low listening levels it blends so nicely. It's akin to a car enthusiast listening to a big block vintage camaro idling. Sounds awesome and you know there is some serious power under the hood.

Got the manual today from SVS and can't wait to start fine tuning it!

....and yes, it passed the wife approval process!

welcome to the delightful world of bass overkill. (in a good way)

I use one of those plus drivers in a DIY cab and a 500 watt plate amp and it can be scary.......2 of those drivers? DAYUM!!!

Ditto on that!!^^

I had never even seen one until a couple of years ago, but one demo [shaking the couch on a concrete slab:eek:] was enough to convince me... only I opted for an NSD/2 instead of a Plus.
Congrats on the score!

Too bad they don't make them anymore. I'm on the lookout for one as well, but
they don't pop up that often.

Nice score !!!

How much did you pay for the 12?

$700 and it is mint condition! Black textured finish.

Agreed and finding one locally makes it that much harder. Too heavy and awkward to ship.

I'm sure they're great subs and I'd like to have one, but my Outlaw LFM 1 plus will shake my couch on a concrete slab.

The Plus/2 was the sweetspot for massive output at a reasonable price for quite awhile for SVS. They sold a ton of them and you don't see many up for sale. The Ultra/2 was king, but the Plus/2 was pretty darned close. I'm sure your house is shaking :D.

Grimster, congrats to you on having room for two of them in the same room! :D I did a double-take when I walked into the guy's condo where I bought it.

The house will be shaking as soon as I can arrange some 'me and my audio equipment time' with the wife and kid. :p .....and I've got to do it before my daughter is born in September.

Congrats Dpowell, I love all my SVS's.

Grimster, I'm still working on getting mine tuned. I currently have it at 20Hz at about 25% gain. I've got my Pioneer Elite set to PLUS in the subwoofer setup and have the X-Over disabled on the sub.

I was curious how you have yours configured with your SC-07.

Congrats bro, the coolest pic is of the lil' guy standing next to it. Awesome. Thanks to forum member Grimster I ended up with dual PB12/Plus2s, then added an SMS-1 not even knowing what the heck to do with it. In the end they simply rock. I watched 300 last night on BD, oh yeah buddy, INSANE!

I have my tuned down to 20hz, crossover at 80, SMS-1 X-over is turned off. Running at 1/4 vol on both and they easily pressurize the room.

Thanks! His ears are a bit sensitive now but some day he'll love bringing his friends over..... :D

I had my PSW1000 crossed over at 60hz which is where it seemed to blend the best. Still working with this one. SVS recommends to let the AVR handle the bass x-over and set the sub's x-over to disabled but I'll let my ear decide.

Congrats on your new sub dpowell. I doubt my Janey would be as forgiving if I had one of those beasts installed on my rig. :o

LOL

I did, come to think of it, it'd probably cost the same to buy an SVS. I don't need an SVS now although it would be nice to hear one, just to see if they live up to their reputation.

They will ship any where, I had both mine sent overseas. Bax Global is offers very good shipping rates.

True, you have dual 12's on both sides of your TV now!:D If you're ever in the US, you'll have to locate one of us forum members that has one and schedule a demo.....

As Sherard said, my speakers settings on my SC-07 are set to small with the x-over set at 80Hz, the x-over on the subwoofer as well as the SMS-1 are bypasses so the SC-07 is doing all the work.

4 x 10's. Likewise if any of you guys are venturing over here, we should be able to organise an SRT day. There's 3 of us living relatively close to one another...

Those SRT's aren't dual 12's? I thought for sure they were.

Good to know. Thanks. I imagine there are some good threads on this forum that deal with small vs. large speaker setting. Since my towers are powered, I always wondered if setting them to small on the AVR would result in the powered subs on them not having much to do. I'll try it though and see how it sounds.
