Do many of You listener's buy inexpensive cables, or do You prefer to splurge believing You achieve better sound with more expensive ones? Does brand loyalty play any role as well?
I myself prefer Monster Cable. I use the "M" series line. As far as possible better sound, well, I'd like to think so, but seriously doubt. Call Me different, but I only went with that line based on looks alone, perty dumb eh?

Do we prefer to believe we achieve better sound with more expensive ones? No, some of us have actually tried more expensive cables and have actually heard differences.

Yes cables definitely make a difference in SQ.
Monster Cables suck. If you want pretty looking cables, there are much better looking options than Monster.

Do a search there are about 200 threads on cables. It's a very contentious subject.

Call Me poor, I only spent a measley $100 for each pair of RCA's, and a stingy $150 for speaker cables. I've compared, I couldn't tell the difference, though I guess My brain was telling Me their was a difference. And Yes, I need 25 posts to post to sell to some poor soul a center channel and surrounds, but I guess the trash is good too.

Ya know...you could have gotten some AQ's that are of much higher quality, and even look better, for less money than you dumped on those POS Monsters.
A bit of advice...if you're going to come on to a website, and jack your post count up to unload some gear, you might not want to start threads about topics as controversial as cables. It's not exactly the greatest introduction to a forum...especially one where there are so many believers.

Just goes to show How many True Idiot's there are in the world. ;)
As far as unloading, I'll just relegate them to the trash can. Was just trying to be nice, but You seem, no take that back, You do have well........nevermind.

I don't think there's really a need to get all worked up about this.
You can't honestly say that you don't know how controversial of a topic cables are. If you don't hear the difference...that's fine by me. I won't waste the time trying to convince you otherwise. I do hear a difference though, as do MANY other people. Why let that fact bother you? How does it affect you if other people spend their own money on something that they have found to make a difference in their own rigs.
You should be glad there are people out there dropping big money on cables. We're helping to stimulate the economy.
I was just trying to give you some advice. Coming to a forum with the sole intention of selling something, and starting a thread that is bound to go downhill, isn't really the best idea.

+1 with what Curt said.
First thing, cable debates can get pretty fierce, pretty fast. Best to avoid them as a new member. If you are going to bring up cables, and ask a question, be prepared for the answer, and don't dis the people that took the time to give you those answers. Trust me when I say that no one is here to prey on the new guy , belittle him, whatever. We are here because we love audio, and as long as we work together we can learn from each other.
As far as Monster goes, I have a major problem with their business practices. I won't go into that now, but I will say they do fill a niche. The uninformed best buy customer who could have done much better if they had just spend a few dollars more. I am NOT saying I'm better than you. I HAVE been there, as most of us have.
Peace, Christopher

Exactly. I started out with Monster Cables, and have since moved on.
I'd never buy another product from Monster just on sheer principle. Monster is a company with absolutely no morals.
They've sued numerous other companies that use the word "monster" in their names, even when that company could in no way be confused with Monster Cables.
Some examples are the "Monster Vintage Clothing", "www.monster.com", "Monster Transmission"...and many many others. I fail to see how anyone would confuse Monster Cables with vintage clothing, or transmissions. I guess their attorneys could definitely see how someone would think a vintage clothing boutique and Monster Cables could be confused for one another though.
Their practices are good from a business stand point, but that's as far as it goes. They've lost a lot of customers because of their practices.
