I'm probably not the one that should be giving anyone advice about sdas' but having read that someone actually hooked up 2.3TLs' to a non-common ground amp it has to be said.
Before you do anything concerning sda speakers, read the forum. The wealth of info here will save you a headache and some money too. You cannot count the number of posts here about which amp to use and I bet it would be hard not find one that states the use of a common ground amp.
Not only that but its quite a bit of fun to be with folks with a common interest. Its also good to know that I'm not crazy or that all of you are crazy too. Thats right bluecomet that means you. Some of you live here, George, F1nut,nosinjohn, darqueknight and quite a few others.
Do your homework first instead of asking questions later, you will be much happier.

Thanks for adding this Joe, when I read about what happened to his system I cringed thought how he could have avoided destroying his equipment by reading the forums here or at least reading what it says about using common ground amps on the back of the SDA speakers.(I'm assuming the info is on his, it's on my SDA/SRS2's). Hopefully he'll get them repaired and up and running.

Good advice Joe about doing your homework first and avoid costly mistakes later. Plenty of knowledge here and good people that are willing to help. You hate to see anyone destroy there system when it could have easily have been prevented.

I do not know how to go about doing this, maybe someone with more pull than I have could get a sticky post that is at the top of the forum that states: if you are interested in the vinatage speakers to read the forum.

fheww, I thought I was going to have to check here before doing ANYTHING. But I see you mean before using vintage Polk speakers.:D I recently bought a pair of SDA's, that I auditioned with the previous owner, and new I had them hoked up correctly to my receiver, and still had a moment of trepidation when I hit that power button and dropped the needle.
I think you are kind of "preaching to the choir" and even if the home page for the forum was a full screen disclaimer not to use a non-common ground amp, you'd still get the same amount of posts about it.:o

Maybe the first sticky (or another announcement) can be titled "Just fried your SDA's? or just don't want too!!!!" (or something similar) Then copy one of the several posts on the basics of hooking them up.

Well Civ, at least regarding my original post the heading got you to read it.
Its more than the common ground thing, the Polkster in question obviously knew of the forum but was more interested in his purchase than the basics. I just feel it should be the other way around.
