Hello guys. Anyone know anything about these, other than they are Model (not Monitor) 10s?

Also used this thread a little: (to determine the PR's are indeed original)

http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=133948

I thought it'd be an interesting addition to my vintage collection.

Model 10's indeed. The first iteration of the Monitor 10's, with no letter connotation at the end. The first runs of all of the "Monitor's" were "Model x" instead. For instance, my Monitor 7A's are technically Model 7A's.

It's got Peerless tweets...very nice. They look like they're in great condition...what are they asking for them?

So you mean that It was Model 10... Monitor 10... Model 10A... Monitor 10A... Model 10B... Monitor 10B?

Or, Model 10, Monitor 10, Monitor 10A?

Either way, estimates on the age? On the SDA website says 1977+ (?). Seller's estimate (not original owner) is something like 1975-76?

And I'll tell you price once I pick them up ;)

Model 10-Monitor 10-Monitor 10A etc...

They were produced between 1977-1979 IIRC...75-76 seems a little too early.

I don't know what difference telling us the price would make...as none of us know where they're located.;) Just make sure you don't pay too much...I wouldn't go any higher than $150 myself. Good luck.:)

I think they're stock... Or this guy used the EXACT same replacements... (or they're the same speakers... which would be a trip)(picture form 2007 post on AK)

The earliest models in the Monitor Series used those PR's...very few got them though, since they switched over to the all black PR's shortly afterwords.

actually, really technically, Monitor Series Model 10. Mid-1970s (by 1977, they were up to the "10A" version). Uncoated PRs. No hole in the Peerless dome, either, is there? There's a pair of 'em in me basement (not as cosmetically nice as these, though). PRs look just like the ones in the first post.

Very nice, buy them. Looks like Mortite or something similar was used on the tweeters...

I noticed there is no solder hole in the tweets as well. Gotta be very early 10's

Well that sucks...Who would have guessed he'd see this?

Sorry man...my bad.:o

I doubt they'll sell real quick at $150...they're worth that, but can be had for a lot cheaper.

Yah, I think it's for the best though. Seller seemed to be going through some rough times; psychologically unstable... kinda a wack job; probably a good thing the deal fell through. So, in a way... thanks!

The latest from this rocket scientist...

"I saw your posting on clubpolk. Keep on talking shit sucker. Good luck finding that model. You tried to fuck me and I am wiser. Stay in California, we would prefer that in Idaho anyway."

All this because I offer to pay his asking price, which is the price he paid as well... What a hypocrite.

I seem to be fortunate... Whenever someone insane posts good deals on craigslist, the deal always falls through... at least I don't end up as a lampshade in some small apartment...

Maybe he should post some stuff here, so he can get banned right away for his awesome lyrics?

That sucks the deal fell through for you John, but at least you didn't drive all the way up there to find out he's an ass clown! Actually, ass clown might be too nice, most likely he's the ringleader of the whole ass clown circus!! And you really ought to be ashamed of yourself John, offering to pay this poor potato farmer his asking price ... you should have instead said: "dear potato farmer, you are asking too little for these speakers...I will pay you 3 times as much as you are asking. That way you wont think I am trying to fuck you and you won't be any wiser. If you become any wiser, you will learn how to tie shoes and not have to wear those velcro ones anymore. That might put those velcro shoe companies out of business, and we don't want that."

Or you could just recommend that he go outside and play hide and go fuck himself.

+1 Christopher lol

I had to double check to see what I had said seeing as I posted here before. That little dipshit had the nerve to say you tried to fuck him over? It's because of you he found out a realistic value for those things, if anything he owes you. You know it' probably better you didn't buy them anyway, who knows what you could've found inside those cabinets anyway...

You guys deal with some interesting people.

It is dangerous posting questions on web forums about things that you're trying to buy off of CL though.... A lot of CL sellers use web searches to price their goods, so every time we talk about the amount of money we paid for product X, we're essentially telling the next seller to price their goods at the same point.
