I am interested in replacing my rt800i front and CS400i center with the Lsi7 and and LsiC ...

Although the onkyo manual doesnt state the 5 channel 4ohm specs ...I am curious if any one running this combo and has any issues.

I talked to Onkyo the other day and the CSR did NOT recommend to put a 4ohm load on the 787...

responses are appreciated

Hey Dmamsa.....I'm running the 797..I thought it would be pretty much same specs....130 w @6ohm-Continuous /160 Max.100 RMS@8ohms. After some serious reading though I have been running at 8ohm setting.....without any problems whatsoever...bi-wired.

Thanks for your input- It looks like you donot see any issues running the LsiC ( a 4ohm speaker) with the 8 ohm settings...do you have variable setting on you receiver (8-6-4 ohm0?

The 797 has 8ohm setting and 6-4 ohm setting........I run the unit pretty hard sometimes while watching DVD's and have never noticed any extra heat from the unit (at the 8 ohm setting)........If you play your unit all the time at extremely high levels70 or higher I would suppose you would run a risk of damage...I have not noticed any negative affect at the 8ohm setting.
