novice buying speakers

hi i just bought a DEH-P7450MP deck for my new lancer. i dont know much about car audio but i paid $600 for the deck and am told its worth $1100...can someone tell me if this is a good deal?
im about to buy some speakers and was under the impression that they cost about $200 for good ones. ive been told its a waste of a good deck if i buy average speakers so i should spend $400-$500...true? can anyone recommend GOOD speakers to buy in the sydney area? Hopefully around the $300 mark. THANKS

just to help you out good speakers need a good amp not the cheasey amps in the deck. i would recomend getting a poweramp forst then get beter speakers.

Go for polk mobile speakers first but if not the only other car speakers i would suggest is MB QUART-Polks first tho
