greetings, i am new to this forum and am considering purchasing this amp. the owner states and i quote

"Please note that late last year I began to have to rotate the amp's input level control occasionally on start up (big knob on the far right in the photos) because the right channel seemed to be playing softer. After that, it worked perfectly. The input level control may need to be sprayed with contact cleaner. I don't know if this signals a bigger problem with the amp, but I needed a surround amp, so this one needs to go. I will guarantee the amp to not be DOA. "

could anyone tell me how serious a problem this could be and should i consider this amp?

thx in advance

Depending on the asking price, you may consider purchasing and sending it off to Bob Carver. He'll make it good as new.

cliff8282, you could PM beemers417 about this, as he is an expert on fixing such things. I do believe that it is simply a contact point is a little dirty and just need cleaned. beemers417 can tell you exactly where to spray, beacause I ran into the same problem with mine and he fixed it.

Also before you buy, you may just consider buying one from beemers417 at : www.vintagehifipgh.com

I hope this helps you out cliff8282.----Take Care, B.B.3
