DoS Modded SB3 – $200 + shipping

Description:
This is a oddity. Basically this is a lightly modded SB3 from the member Destroyer of Smiles on Audiocircle. He upgraded the rcas to Cardas, upgraded the OP-Amp, and replaced the surface mount electrolytics with Blackgate capacitors. He apparently messed up and sent it off to Wayne at Bolder Cable who was kind enough to repair it.

It is NOT the same level as a Bolder modded one, or a RWA modded one, but a nice improvement over stock. Sadly something is going on with the wireless as it cuts in and out, so consider this a wired only unit.

Condition:
In good condition. The front screen has those typical swirly marks that can only be seen in direct sunlight or w/ a cameras flash. The back has some very faint scratches but nothing serious.

No functionality issues, beyond the aforementioned intermittent wireless.

Terms:
This will be packaged well and comes with the unit, stock PSU, and white remote. You read that correctly, WHITE remote, don't ask why white I haven't a clue. If you really want black ask nicely and it can be arranged. Accepting Paypal (add 3%), money order, or personal check. I will only sell to a buyer with verifiable good feedback. Not sure if it helps or not, but personally I had no clue what you are selling until I searched Google. Looking at photos, I figured out that it was a logitech something... and google helped by showing that sb3 means Squeeze Box 3. Unless people are looking specifically for "SB3", it's really impossible to gauge any kind of interest by the way it was posted. HTH

Doh! I made the same mistake before, thought I had a quick snippet of info on what it was. Thanks for the heads up.

A SB3 is a Squeezebox V3, now known as the Classic. It's job is to pull music from your PC via internet radio and/or your own harddrive. The way most use it is to rip your cds to your pcs using a lossless format and then play these back over your squeezebox. With this device you can have access to thousands of songs at the press of a button.

There are multiple ways to access your music, you can select them by artist, genre, year, or by the file structure on your pc. You can have multiple SB3s and sync them so you have the same songs playing through out the house.

As for mine specifically, it is one of the new Logitech ones (formerly made by Slimdevices) that was modded by a user on AudioCircle. A popular mod done by RedWineAudio and Bolder is to remove the OP-Amp, and improve the caps in the signal path. This unit has the OP-Amp upgraded, and the caps upgraded as well. Some of the work was actually done by Bolder, but it is not the same level of their mods.
