Hi all, does anyone have a suggestion for which connector to use for a DIY SDA cable? I haven't seen an RCA plug which will work. And yes, this is for a pin/blade style cable. Thanks!!

In the past,I've just removed the "collar" from an rca plug.If that is not your fancy, give Ben a jingle and he'll make you one.Good luck.

I had to use an older thread because I just didn't want to make a new one simply for a simple question. I got PM'd on AVSforum regarding my SDA 1C's and this is what it says -
"Hi, nice sdas. If you find your sdas a little bright for music, I can send you a free cap to put on the top tweeter that will smooth out the highs like they should be. Let me know. It looks like this"

Will this really work in my position having the stock SL2000 tweeters and unmodified crossover? I do find a slight harshness and wondered if this would really help out.

I've never heard of that...but the slight harshness could be easily remedied with a quad of RD0-194's. Very smooth sounding tweeters.

Oh trust me that mod is soon to come, I've already taped up the driver baskets and applied caulk cord in place of all the stock gaskets (to include the terminals).
The guy even offered it to me for free if I wanted some for my SDA's, I mean what other such mod is as cheap as this one....other than removing the grille during use lol.
Money right now is going to go into my DIY sub project :D

NO!
Unless you like all sorts of peaks and nulls in your frequency response.

wow really, a 2.2uF cap will do all that?
So then putting a SL1000 or SL2000 tweeter on a Peerless x-over with the extra 4.7uF cap (or the 6.7uf) would be twice as bad?
I have been wondering about that....
No, that would only affect the crossover frequency.

cornholio and candyliquor are the same person...he was candyliquor here. One of the most famous trolls in Club Polk history. Luckily, I joined up right after he got banned, so I missed the epidemic.
He's also the guy that decided an SL-2000 tweeter would be a great replacement for the tweeter in his CSi3. I'd take his advice with a grain of salt...or better yet, an entire salt shaker.

I'm sure it sounds great with that extra port.

He posted me that link of his center channel, thought it was funny but wouldn't use it myself. So I take it this was pretty much Slowpolky times 100?

From what I've gathered, yes. Like I said, I joined up just after he got banned, so I missed out on it.
You can still look up his old posts though if you're interested...it makes for some interesting reading if you're particularly bored.
candyliquor35m was his screen name.

candyliquor35m was his screen name.slowpolky was a toxic idiot. CL35 isn't a bad guy underneath his obsession.
