Carver Amazing Silvers- Massachusetts pickup

Pair of Carver Amazing Silvers in Piano Black finish. Previous owner replaced all 6 woofers with new. Ribbons are 100%, no issues. Cabinets have some nicks/scratches. All in all, these are very presentable, they'll be even more so with a bit of cleanup and TLC. Sale includes NOS pair of new grille assemblies + the grilles currently on the speakers. Speakers sound GREAT!

$550 firm. I cannot ship these. Located in central Massachusetts. Pics sent to serious buyer on request. I prefer buyer to come direct to me, see and hear prior to purchase. I'd like to keep these, unfortunately lack of space mean I cannot. :(

Again, I cannot ship them, if shipping needed, it's up to the buyer to make all arrangements.

Great offering Paul, at a fantastic price.

My friend Harold tormented me all the time when I first got my Plat's to part with them. I found him a pair of Silvers in oak, around 1992. Those things still sound fine. Those were delivered from a store in Greenwich Village, down here to South Jersey, and then we tried humping them up a tight spiral staircase, but ended up hoisting them into the loft area. DH-500 amp and they sounded just fine up there.

I hear you George. I'm happy to give back exactly what I get. Treat me with courtesy and respect and get the same back as you have done since I've been here. You and I never have a problem, and the reason is obvious... respect passes both ways...... It's a pretty simple concept.

It seems it's OK though to piss in someone's sales thread. Perhaps I should do what's been done to me, and go in other folks sales threads and call them an asshole.

Maybe that's the thing......like my friend......perhaps because I do not agree with him and a few others I'll just follow them around and drop bullshit in their sales threads, post baseless innuendo, call them liars and so forth.

Just wanted to pass on my many thanks to Paul. I am the new owner of his Amazing Silvers. They sound absolutely superb in my living room. I currently have a full ACI Concepts setup--3 hand-built Dzurko Jaguars across the front and 4 sapphires on the sides and rear for my home theater (prior to that I was a very happy Polk owner full 5 speaker system anchored by SDA-1Cs). I can't describe how great the imaging and crispness of the vocals are with the Carvers. I got them to build a system for my son from my old vintage stuff (Carver C-4000t, Hafler DH-500), but the tempation to keep them in my living room is tremendous!! I actually prefer the vocals on the Silvers over my Jaguars.

Final note--as a closet audio-nut, I spend a lot of time trolling the various forums, rarely signing up or commenting, as it's too easy to get baited into a flame war. It's a shame that sales threads can't be confined to sales. I found Paul to be a very gracious host, with an incredible wealth of knowledge and expertise. Just walking through his house and garage was like traveling though time in an audionut's universe! I was unfortunately rushed, and was only able to spend about an hour there. Given the opportunity, I would have preferred to to spend a few hours talking audio history. Again, my thanks to Paul for an outstanding experience!
