I'll try to make a long story short here! I am finally finsihing my basement and have an 11'x21' room that I will be using for a home theater. I know that I will be going projector and at least 110" on the screen size and probably mounting the front and center speakers behind the screen (microperf screen I think is what they call it). So..to the question..I have had my eye on the Polk Monitor series for some time now knowing this day would come and I just picked up the Monitor 70's for the fronts. Probably going CS2 or CS20 on the center but don't know what I should do from there..PSW125 for the sub or something else? If I go 7.1 what would be a good choice for the sides and rears? Thanks for your help!

Thanks...I was thinking M50's...too big? The 40's seem so small??

I was just looking at Polk's product page, and did not see anything called Monitor series. Which speakers are you referring to?

Personally, I am using the LSi15s all around for HT and love it. I did upgrade the LSiC to a PSB Synchrony One Center, and it is a tremendous improvement.

M50s are floorstanding and are better in my opinion, if u have enuf space. I have M50s and I like it..

I'm using Monitor 50's for rears. The only problem I have with using floorstanders for rears is getting them up high enough. I have built small stands for them. I am hoping to upgrade to some FX series for rears sooner than later.

I run Monitor 70's for my fronts and also have a CS2 as my center. I would suggest getting the CS2 over the CS20, mostly because of the difference in price and it is the EXACT timbre match for the Monitor series, whereas the CS20 is the EXACT timbre match for the new TSi series. I also have the 40's for my surrounds and don't be fooled by their "small" size they pack quite a punch. There are guys on here that use the 40's as their front channels due to lack of room for floorstanders and have only heard good things about them in that aspect. I'm sure you could go with the 50's as suggested, but that will be up to you. Good luck and welcome to Club Polk.

another star from the moron graduate school of grammar.

Polk has an entirely new line of subs, you can check them all out on the product page. I have heard the new subs as well as having used Polk subs for years, they are very nice, go boom boom for some great bottom end and mine can kick the ass of any SVS or what have you.
