Not bad for a basic AVR 100wpc x 5 that will do TRUE HD and DTS HD audio. It may even come down for their Labor Day sale.

I wonder how long it will run before lighting on fire.
OR, maybe it's one of the FEW insignia products made by a real company... like their plasmas (LG), or NS2112 speakers (kef rip off)
I love those two :) If they made that leap in receivers, then awesome!

I would recomend passing on this unit. Just don't see it doing anything it says very well at that price point.

I Couldn't Agree More. Definite Pass.

A lot of people could have said the same thing about their plasmas or their bookshelf speakers...but if everyone had passed, no one would have found out they were great budget items.

i think it would be ok for a bedroom AVR if your not to picky about your equipment.

I say someone try it out and let us know! I would not be surprised if it was crap, but it would be nice if it were decent....

I'm sure it'd work just fine for the average person.
Believe it or not, most people aren't psychotically obsessed with tuning their sound system...lol Most people just have a cheapo little surround sound system for watching movies...if even that. Just like how most people are perfectly happy listening to music on a little iPod boom box thingy...
That being said, I have no intentions of getting one.

Eh, I have a buddy with an Insignia TV. Hasn't caught on fire ... yet.
I'd rather go get a nice used Oinker something like 605/705 for less.

Bought an Insignia TV for my mother-in-law recently. Not the greatest, but 400.00 for a 32" LCD, it's not bad either.
I'm not going to dis this AVR. It might be perfect for folks that are on a budget.

Thats kinda what I was thinking, somebody jumping into this for the first time AND getting HD decoding. I mean my first AVR was a JVC.:o

The BB rep told me this 42" plasma I bought ($499) was manufactured by Samsung...
All I know is I'm loving it everytime I switch it on!

The beauty of the marketplace is that there is someting for everybody.
I'm waiting for Insignia to produce a receiver with pre-outs and seven channel power amp.

Insignia plasmas are usually made by LG - it depends though. If you crack it open there should be LG parts all over.
