Is this the overlooked gem of the group? I have yet to see a bad or even neutral review of this speaker. The only "negative" I have seen is that one needs to check out the LSi9 since it is only slightly more $ and has better bass extension. When I last auditioned the LSi7 and LSi9 I was impressed with how close these two sounded. Here is the review:http://www.stereophile.com/printarchives.cgi?795

I mentioned it numerous times here. There were multiple reason's I went with the 7's.
1) Very close musically, the only difference was increased bass in the 9's.
2) Price. At the time it was a 300 dollar difference.
3) Upgradeable. I know I will get the 9's in the future. And having the 7's as surrounds will make my system kick ass more.

Love my 7's.:D

Funny how people get emotional attatchments to their gear. It was a sad day when my first real speakers died without warranty. :(

Oh well, that was the perfect opportunity to get those Polks I was looking at :)

It's all good.

the ls1-7 was the only one of the lsi- line that i got a good listen to and i realy like them, im still trying to get a good listen to the lsi-9s but all the places i went to had them set up terrible. i gave them (lsi-7) two thums up from the great out doors about 6 mos ago. i like them better than the lsi-15

I find them to be compressed sounding when compared to the 9's, and the soundstage didn't seem as solid. Still a very good speaker.

For people in tight quarters, the 9's are really deep. The height and width are close, but the 7's aren't nearly as deep.
