Not sure if this has always been a issue-just started noticing it.
I have a Sony BDP-S350 BluRay Player connected to an Onkyo 805 via HDMI.
When I play a BD with either of the HD audio formats, (DTS HD Master Audio, or Dolby TrueHD) I hear a lot of static. Sometimes its just barley there and periodic but you can still hear the main title's audio, but other times its so bad you can't hear any other audio but seems to be getting better. The best way to describe the Avg static sound is like it were playing a dirty or scratched vinyl album.
I tried several different movies, and dbl checked all the settings on both my Onk and the Sony. Onk shows the corrrect decoding on the display.
I have the latest Firmware on the Sony, I still have to check the Onk.
None of the other audio formats have any problems.
Any ideas??
Right ow I'm going to hook up my HD-DVD to rule out or confirm an issue with the Sony.
Thanks
