View Full Version : PM Rant

Lasareath
09-15-2009, 02:49 AM
I think we need a standard when sending a PM to somebody.

I hate it when we have two to three responses back and forth and then somebody puts a response in the middle of all the old text.

Or they put their response at the bottom.

I think that all responses should be at the very top, so that as soon as I open your PM I don’t need to search through all the previous paragraphs to find anything that looks new.

When this happens I usually clear out all the old conversations and I start with a brand new clean slate.

So please place your response at the very top, Don’t start typing in the middle of somebody’s quote either.

What do you guys think?

End Rant!

I'm just like WTF is this goof doing, after five responsives back and forth and then they put their text in the middle of the old responsives. Or they put it all the way at the end. It just doesn't make sense to me, maybe I'm missing something.

I swear I don't understand why some of trivial crap pisses people off.......if you can't work with a PM, then don't use them......if one is undecipherable, then delete it......why that would cause a rant thread is beyond me though..........

I think I am going to start sending Sal a lot of useless PM's and have everything scattered. Top, middle bottom, upside down and ramble on and on. I generally love reading other's rants. This has got my great day off to a great start. Thanks Sal :D:):p. I am playing in a 9/11 golf tournament which is sad at times but is great to participate in a wonderful fund raiser.

As a newbie on this forum It at times looks to me that a lot of the older members don't want any newbies. I for one made a mistake about wires and found out what a dumb @ss I 'am, But I have thick skin and like learning

This community is a lot more accepting of noobs than most others. I've only been punched in my pride a couple of times... But it's the interbuttz, man... Let it roll off. If you really want to participate, I'm pretty sure that no one will give you a hard time. If someone is just here to cause a ruckus and be a smart@$$, well... That's another story.

Hate is a strong word, and I don't think anybody here used that word but yourself. Your just being razzed at, not hated.

Come on... it's a freakin' South Park reference. If anything it's a stab at people who hate on others for no particular reason. Someone may as well be making disparaging remarks about people from Guam... or Lichtenstein. If there ever truly was an "Anti-Canadian" agenda, I think it would be laughed off the Board.

However, I do find the whole concept of canadian bacon absurd. Call it "ham", you hosers.

Top Ten Myths About Canada and Canadians

1. We live in igloos. We live in houses, and they are very well built houses.

2. Canadians do not have the same technology as Americans. Canadians have access to the
same technology as Americans and the rest of the civilized world.

3. There is snow everywhere all year long. Anyone who has spent a summer in Vancouver,
Toronto, or Montreal will strongly disagree with this.

4. We don't get the same movies Americans do. We get the same movies, on the same day,
and our censorship is less severe. Furthermore, the Paramount theater in Montreal is
the most attended and most lucrative movie theater in North-America.

5. Canada does not have a film industry. We have a thriving film industry, and many of the
syndicated US TV shows, not to mention major studio motion pictures are filmed here. Canada is
renowned to have some of the best production crews in the world.

6. Canadians all say "eh" and "aboot". Sure, some of us do, but Canada is a big country with
many different people who speak many different languages with different dialects.

7. Everyone in Quebec speaks French. Although a large percentage of the Province's
population is Francophone, there is also a large number of Anglophones and Allophones.

8. Canadians have fewer guns than Americans. Canadians have just as many, if not more; we just
have fewer murders. If you want stats and figures, see Michael Moore's excellent documentary, Bowling for Columbine.

9. Canada's national sport is Hockey. Not completely true. While Hockey is very popular, and considered
our national pastime, our national sport is Lacrosse. Oh, and we invented Baseball too.

In 1994, the Federal Government introduced Bill C-212 that officially made Hockey Canada’s National Winter Sport and Lacrosse Canada’s National Summer Sport. Thanks Rolly! So the answer is both!

10. Canadians policemen are all Mounties dressed in red uniforms. Our cops are the same
as American cops. The Mounties usually only dress up in red for for special occasions.

Oh and sorry for the thread jack but this one needed jacking.
And one last thing we eat the other bacon too.

The fact that Jim Carrey and Margot Kidder are on that list is proof positive that Canadians are insane and should all be locked up before the virus spreads. And thanks for claiming Keanu Reeves. He sucks and you can take him back at any time.

Sal I just sent you a PM with invisible ink. You need to hold a lighter up to your monitor to read it:p

As for my Canadian brothers. I have not personally met one that I didn't like. Way too sensitive at times. Also please note we bust each others stones more than we do Canadians;) Relax have a beer, and enjoy that beautiful country you have there. Loaded with nice women. If it wasn't so cold I would be there myself.
Take care.

I was NOT gonna post, but:

Las, if this TRIVIAL bs is what set's you off, then, brother, you got a SKATE life.
Also, if there are illiterate people posting in this world, I'll bet dollars to doughnuts they came from a PUBLIC, GOVERNMENT run schhool!

And finally, anyone, REGARDLESS of what nationality, who thinks that Michael Moore films are lgitimate, is a FUCKTARD X INFINITY! That POS is nothing more than a left wing propogandist, and when CORNERED, can't backup his claims!!
His films have been exposed as pure BS by actual documentary film makers.

I spent 2 weeks in toronto at a NORTEL class and thought it was awesome.. It was feb. and i almost froze my nads off but it was a really cool city. I smoked back then and almost had a heart attack when i went to buy some ciggys.. 9 bucks US for a pack of ciggs. And they had a picture of a cancerous lung or some shit on them.

Canada is a really nice place. I've enjoyed Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and some of the more rural areas. Great Canadian Forum members also.

I have a question . . . .

Why is the favorite sex position of Canadian couples "doggie style"?

Ready . . . . . .

I'm actually not that ra ra Canadian's rock kind of guy. I just felt the thread needed a little lightening up. It was moving in a rather ugly direction there. Diversion can be really useful for distraction. That said Ben I do have some very hot women play on my ball team.

You guys have it made with the selection of women up there. My long time buddy lives in Shurbroke(I know I spelled it wrong), and also lives in Quebec. In the states a lot of the women are never satisfied. Up there the man takes care of the women, and the women take care of the men. I don't know how true it is, but he lived/worked here in CT for the longest time so he has experienced both places. Like I said if it wasn't so cold, and my kids weren't here I would love to live up there.

I think someone is feeling a bit self-important here.

There is no standard implied or explicit. Read the FAQ. If you are unhappy with way someone responds, then you may choose not to reply.

Frankly, the way you suggest is counter-intuitive. As is the PM system for this forum. That is what makes it difficult for people not familiar with BBcode.

the scuttle-butt is Sal was brought into this world as an illegitimate love child born of a very hot one night stand between a unshaven Canadian nympho and an American WWII secret-code breaker, the mating occured in an igloo and was apparently so passionate a block of ice gave loose in the ceiling causing his father to ejaculate prematurely thereby ending his colorful life, the result has left Sal with a great deal of inner angst surrounding all that is Candadian as well any type of private message.

Its all good Sal hang in there.
