Hey all, I wanted to start a thread to show our appreciation for follow Club Polk forum members. Not every act of goodness warrants its own thread, so this can be a place to post up some thoughts of appreciation for others that may otherwise go unspoken.

allow me to start... i'd love to personally send thanks over to Cody (exalted512) for his recent aid with precise instructions on how to install a top of the line alarm system in my vehicle. he took time out of his schedule which has been very busy with buying a house and all to help me out tremendously. he sent pics and instructions and we spoke over the phone from time to time. i could not have done this without him. (the only thing that could have been better is if HE could have driven here to do the entire thing for me.):D

in the end he saved me over $350 that best buy wanted to charge me (well-deserved price point) for the install. it's polkies like Cody that make this place worth spending time. polkies helping polkies. i like that.

THANK YOU CODY!!!:)

Thanks to CP for taking my HT experience to another level. Big thanks to Grimster as he helped me with ideas and much input in desiging my HT room. I must have asked the guy over a thousand questions when doing the project.

I'd like to thank the veterans that pre-date me for hanging in there and having the patience to answer the same questions probably hundreds of times. When I joined, I had already been an audiophile for over 30 years, I figured I wouldn't learn anything new, I was wrong. Some that stand out:

F1Nut
Russman
Doro
Troy
George Grand (of the Jersey Grands)
Madmax
Ricardo
HTRookie
RonP
Shack daddy
Trey (aka Sidward)
Dr. Spec (aka The Subwoofer Guru)
Sean
Gidrah (ski to me)
the guy who did the SDA upgrade guides..errr, ummm....damn

...and I'm certain I'm forgetting a ton more, to those my apologies--but you know who you are. Thanks for sharing the illness that is hi-fi.

Cool; I get recognized twice ;)

Too many names. They are all responsible for my wallet being lighter, so I won't mention them because I hate them.

The best thing I have received from this forum is some real good friends. Joe was my first real friend, and we still talk regularly. Then I moved to GA and met a newb named Jerry. We are real tight. Mr George Daniels has helped me through some pretty tough times. Those three are like brothers. Now there is a whole bunch of ya like cousins, and drunk uncles. F1nut has put up with a whole bunch of stupid questions from me when I joined, and guided me along the way. Then there is Ken. I'll just call him daddy. The engineering department(including MP) has gone way above and beyond giving me a huge education on the functional design of SDA's. Now that I have gone into electronics my friend Fred has taught me so much. I just can't express the gratitude I have for these gentlemen. There are well over 100 Polkies that I have talked to on the phone over these few years. Out of the whole lot of Polkies on the forum I can say there is only 2 people that I really wouldn't care if their names ever popped up on here again.

Well that covers all the guys. There is one very special lady here who has a special place in my heart. I had been very rude about women at the time(divorce from hell), and people in her profession. She sent me a PM saying that she might even feel the way I did in my shoes. Well that had hit me real hard, and took a black spot off my heart. Thanks.

This whole experience has been really good except that I used to be very happy with my 80's JVC receiver, and Infinity speakers. Now I am in way deep in this nightmare called audio. I feel guilty a lot. If I had spent one tenth of the time helping others that need real world help I would be a much better person.

I offered to corn-hole Russman once, but he wasn't having any....

skunk beer works on him everytime, I know he has taken a long break, but no doubt for many years RuSsman and Doro were the heart and soul of CP of course F1 and Doro went steady for a while and still "go" places from time to time.

But things change and we have some good new guys as well, still nothing beats a reach around from BDT.

Let me add Mantis as well. Good guy and always helpful, I like Dan. Also Ken Swauger (sp?). Ken, Madmax, Gidrah, and George Grand are the "old school" audiophiles who get into the classic audio equipment, very cool. These guys are into audio on a whole different level; they don't love "brands," they love hi-fi.

If I tried to list all the Polk members who have helped me, or become my friend through this Forum, I wouldn't know where to start. So many good people here, many of whom I've been able to shake their hand share some company with great music, food, laughs, tears or just talking audio.

But I have to admit, I've grown awful fond of this beast:

I'm sure I have leaned something from almost every active member on this board. I don't post a ton, but do read A LOT!!!

So I'll throw out a big thanks to all the CP members for the bucket-loads of information and hours of entertainment I have gained since I have started frequenting this site.

Def. thanks to Keiko for the occasional servings of delicious pie.

Also I'll shout out another thank you to Lasareath. When I first started on here and got my RTi system set up, he offered up a very nice DVD demo disc and shipped it to me for free to test out/show off my system. It was, and still is, very much appreciated.

Wow, how ironic this is my 1,000th post and it took me just about a year to the day, I'm a Polkhead now lol. Thanks again guys, the help has been invaluable.

Also a thanks to H9, Ricardo and F1 for their expertise in tube advise. And a BIG thanks to George Grand for all the terrific vinyl he's provided me with and for his efforts towards The Githens Center.

There's been others who've helped me out along my way also. You know who you are and I thank y'all as well. I have a general appreciation for all positive contributors to CP. It's all you's that makes this place so special.

I'm going to thank everyone who has replied to my threads and for those who has hooked up me up with their selling equipment.

I really appreciate the patience and time people put in these forums. I'm sure the experienced people here have replied to threads with the same answer, but with a different person who asked the question. That's what brings me back, because no matter what question it is, someone is here to answer it thoroughly. People here don't get annoyed and say "do a search on the forum, it's already been answered."

Lastly, the person I haven't met yet, but soon hopefully in the near future is Freddy. (Kawiz9r) -- He has helped me tremendously, devoting his time to explain things that sometimes I don't even get still. He's also a bad influence because I've spent atleast $1500 for "upgrading" -- (bought the Emotiva, SVS PB-12 Sub, SC Interconnects/Speaker wires). Freddy is a great guy who gives great, precise advice.

Thanks :)

PS: I'll probably need you later tonight to make sure I'm hooking everything up right ;)

The amount of members here that deserve appreciation are too numerous.Guys like George,Jesse,Russ,Dan,and soo many others have gone above and beyond for other members here and that is what makes this forum tops in my book. Some new kids on the block have also stepped up to help others in need and I for one am happy to see them carry on tradition.Thats what this club is all about, and thats also why we tend to weed out those who have no interest in gaining any knowledge,or lending some out from time to time. Some claim this club has gone south, but the people mentioned in this thread are proof that in fact,it hasn't.Kudo's to all of you,and if I could,I'd have my ugly sister kiss you all on your butt cheeks.

Alot of people over the years have helped me tremendously --

I believe Lightman has to take the number one spot, his help the last month or so has been tremendous - it is just a matter of getting him there. But when he is there he does excellent work that is making my house an amazing place.

Next up would have to be Sean (Zero) - he has always been a good friend and has offered excellent audio advice.

From there -- Russman, Troy, Big Ted, Lou, Dave, Tom, Jesse, Hoosier, Mark, Audiobliss, BlueMD, Steve, and many many others.
