Something is not grounded right. Stop by radioshack for some ground loop isolators.

Connect via TOSLINK cable and you won't have that issue. it's EXTREMELY COMMON with cable systems.

I'm using one of those Jensens to kill the rolling picture I was getting to my projector from my digital cable. They definitely do the trick if you're having ground loop issues caused by improper grounding of the cable line.

TNRabbit, is that assuming he is using HDMI?

You don't have to be using HDMI. TOSLINK is always an option, up to 5.1.

Not to highjack this thread but I have a power hum and have isolated it to the DTV. I am using HDMI from my Sat DVR to Denon AVR.
Do you think if I keep the HDMI for video and ran TOSLINK from SAT DVR to Denon AVR it will resolve the issue.
My system is grounded correctly as far as I can tell but still have a ground hum.

You would most likely still have the hum as it will still probably come through the HDMI audio. The only way to isolate it is to remove any connections to video (you'd have to run component video, which is good up to 1080i). I THINK I'm correct on this, but if not, I'm certain someone will correct me shortly~

I had the Dayton before the Jensen. Seemed to work great but then randomly died and was cutting off half the HD channels. Very odd. But hey, it's cheap, so give it a shot!

They say on the product page that "Note: Interferes with digital cable, cable modem, and satellite TV operation."
It works fine with my digital cable.

Yeah no issue here. All stations crisp and clear - and no hum! I have Comcast in MA.

The only place I noticed the hum was in my subwoofer, so i used a cheater plug and that got rid of the problem.

I ran a ground from one of the plate amp screws to a ground - problem solved.
