So, I bought one of these:

BB865 8-Channel Amplifier (http://www.speakercraft.com/#Products:132:BB865%208-Channel%20Amplifier)

This is what I'm thinking:

Left and right front bridged (4 channels) - 130 wpc
Center bridged (2 channels) - 130 wpc

That leaves 2 channels and my intitial thought are 65 per channel for the rears.

My setup is:
AVR - H/K347
Monitor 70s, CS2, Monitor 40s, and PSW505.

What do you guys think? With bridgeable 8 channels there are a few other options.

Regards,
Randy

Congrats!
That config seems to be a good one, or you could bi-amp your fronts ans center.

Yeah, what about sending 2 channels (130 watts) to the Subwoofer and 1 to the mids (65 watts) on the 70's?

Then two channels to the center (130 watts) and using the H/k rears for the rear channels? (55 Watts)

Or would the 70's even need more on the woofers than the mids?

Randy, don't take this question the wrong way, but you do realize there's a difference between multi-channel amp.'s, and multi-zone amp's, right?

I realize this was marketed as a multi-zone amp, but in design its a multi-channel. In fact the design makes it very versatile.

65 Watts per channel RMS at 8 ohms (all channels driven)
Input Sensitivity:
470mV for 8 ohm rated output
Input Impedance:
10K ohms
Total Harmonic Distortion:
.04% 20Hz to 20kHz @ 8 ohms (all channels driven)

and

AMP08065: BB865 Shelf Top

You do not have a powered sub, and are using a passive sub?

No, the PSW505 IS apowered sub. Hence my question in post #4.

danz1906 had suggested bi-amping the 70's and I was referring to the woofers on the Monitor 70s...

Those amps are not really HiFi. I am going to guess that your HK sounds better than the amp. HK 65wpc is better than most receivers 120wpc. I had some Niles equipment that looked decent on paper, but the SQ was just not there. The speakers you are driving a easy to drive. I don't understand the reason for this purchase.

Something else to play with... $212 bucks on Ebay.

I read this review and thought I'd try it out...
